On the recommendation of the server, when I asked what was the one dish I had to try if I was only ever going to be there one time... I had the Cowboy Café Pork Belly Burger with sweet potato fries and a beer.
On my second bite with a sip of beer... for a full fifteen seconds, I was back in 2006 stepping off the plane to see my wife again after having been in combat in Afghanistan for a year. I almost cried
My first act after making it home to my wife was to get a cheeseburger and beer. I didn't even change out of my uniform.
This burger was SO GOOD I relived that experience on the spot.
The burger itself checks all the boxes.
The bun is steamed and soft.
A little bit of spice/heat.
A little bit of sweet.
The pork belly delivered a lot of bacony goodness mixed with the beef and cheese.
The last tang of pickle finishes the bite.
Good job, guys. 10/10.
PS. The Peach Raspberry pie a-la-Mode was pretty great too.
