So glad we drove the few miles from the highway exit to try out Elk Mountain Trading Company for a lunch break on our drive. Lovely, homey spot with great, homemade food (Cowboy BLT and burger both impressed). The owner/chef/server couldn’t have been more welcoming. We’ll definitely be back next time we are in the area.

What a great stop for lunch! We were hesitant due to how it is off the freeway but glad we made the adjustment. Burger and Fries were awesome, atmosphere perfect for the area and service was fast, friendly and special.I just need to add that after I posted my review I read a few that were not kind, everyone is entitled but the inference is they were not friendly or were even unkind. I will admit my first reaction was they were a little rough but we moved past that and in a matter of minutes it was great. No they are not young spurted workers at In-n-out but they are a small restaurant in the middle of Wyoming (or middle of almost no where) in a town of 100 people, farmers, ranchers… they are exactly who they should be and I wish more people were who they should be and accept people for who they are…. Just had to update and say thatPs I LOVE In-n-Out but would opt for that bacon cheeseburger I just had any day!!

Curmudgeon sitting out front glared at as we drove by. We turned around, parked in front, and he starts barking at us about not parking there. Not a friendly way to greet visitors. We got back in the truck and left. Will not do business with curmudgeonly owners or employee'

Pulled up to see if they were open after branding calves and the owner walked out and started swearing at us. After trying to tell him we were looking at the sign, he swore more at us to which we replied”you have cost this town our business” owner appeared either drunk or mentally unstable.

Amazing place. We walked around town and Ken from the Trading Post gave us a lot of history of the town. Had lunch at the Cafe and got lots of stories from Ken and Nancy the owners. The food was amazing and cooked with love by Nancy while Ken served the drinks.

we were stopping to check it out and then order some food and the guy working said very rudely “make it quick”. We did not feel welcomed at all so we left.
