I was visiting Evanston and saw that the admission to the county museum was free and decided to check it out. Happy I did.
Neat museum in the historical part of town. There's plenty of local artifacts and information about the history, industry and ways of life in Evanston and Unita County in general. Staff was great and happy to answer any questions.
They have a kids section and visitor information/ brochures to take. Restrooms available in the museum.

If you want to see the history of Uinta County, this is a great place to start. I personally have donated a few things. Very nice people and a lot of cool stuff to experience.. Go check it out.

The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They have a fun scavenger hunt sheet available at the front. My kids enjoyed this place and learned a lot. The new oil pump rig was so cool.

Great local historical museum. If you want to see the Chinese Joss House Museum next door, ask the front desk staff.

Such an awesome museum with info on Evanston and the surrounding areas. Very kid friendly. The scavenger hunt is fun and educational. It’s free to visit, so come multiple times!

What a brilliant collection of historical artifacts and interpretation of the area. From natural history, to narratives (with local context) of the World Wars and stories of life in the American west, this museum is a true gem. And the docent at the front desk was kind enough to walk me around and share tidbits. Definitely worth a drop in.

This is a smaller museum but has a lot to show. Wyoming has a large history and they like to touch base on quite a bit.I like to go metal detecting and found some stuff in my yard from the railroad. They were able to find some old maps to see where the old railroad went.I was also able to donate some items that we had.

I had some time to kill in Evanston, and visiting this free museum was a highlight of my short time spent in this town.I especially enjoyed the different scenes and vignettes, like the general store, the oil rig section, etc. I liked the signs and info about the WW1 and WW2, some things I've never heard about.
