I called A1 about a air-spring issue in my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Chris called me back within 15 minutes and gave me advice on what to do. He didn't charge for his expertise, or his time, he just helped steer me in the right direction as well as give me the location of a Jeep dealership in town that would know more. Update: Chris it is working! Thank you again!

Visiting from out of town and needed our car checked for a problem after the battery died. Pulled in just right before A1 Auto was set to close and they were willing to check our car and solve its problem on the spot!

My car was making an awful squeaking noise whenever it turned on, I took it in to A1 and within 10 minutes I was out with a beautiful sounding car! Chris was so kind and helpful, he diagnosed the problem almost immediately and didn't charge me a penny. Really great guy and service, my highest recommendations!

My son blew a piston in the engine of his 1986 Toyota 4-Runner last year. He rebuilt/replaced the engine, but was having a variety of issues related to idling, timing, etc. Chris troubleshot a whole list of possible solutions and the truck now runs much more smoothly. His knowledge of Toyotas is phenomenal, but what was really cool, was Chris's willingness to share that knowledge, making all sorts of useful suggestions to my son for better engine performance. I have never left a review for a business before on google, but I could not let this service go unnoticed. We were traveling through Jackson from Ohio and our check emissions system light came on. Looking up possible reasons in our manual there were numerous potential causes and recommendations were to get to a dealer as soon as possible and not to drive more than 35 mph. This unfortunately occurred on Saturday night and no Honda dealership existed for hundreds of miles. Also no repair shops were open on Sunday. We had many more drives to come and were scheduled to leave for the tetons and northward on Monday. I found the great reviews for this business and stopped first thing when opened Monday morning. Mechanic was very busy and backed up with cars but stopped to hook up a quick diagnostic, explained the reasoning for the light and how to manage it. He spoke with us for 15 minutes to assist and even gave us info on where to see bears in the park that day based on word from his wife. He would not accept any money for this service and over 3000 miles and 8 states later the light has not returned. And darn if we didnt see a grizzly and its cub as well! This business was a life saver for me and my family. Our kids got to enjoy rafting and horseback riding and national park adventures rather than waiting on the van at a repair shop because of the honesty and care this shop displayed. I cannot say enough good things about Chris, the sole owner of A1 Auto in Jackson, WY. I stopped by without an appointment because I needed my brake pads inspected before I was headed to Glacier Nat'l Park on a last minute decision on a new road trip. Mind you, I was visiting Grand Teton National Park, and had a tight schedule. Even after stated that he could not take my car that day, he got his flexible light from the shop, walked around my car and checked all four brakes. He even pointed out to me the use of the multiple down gears on my car (I thought I had only one). Then we chatted about how he is the only one working at his shop, Jackson and its booming housing, and California. Afterward, I asked how much I owed him. He said, "Nothing. You need the money to go to Glacier." I mean, this guy restored my faith un humanity, and in ethical mechanics at large.

Car was making a strange noise and needed a mechanic. Chris was immediately helpful, diagnosed the problem quickly, didn't charge us for his time and got us back on the road fast. Delightful experience, would highly recommend.

My check engine light went over as I was driving through Yellowstone. I didn't want to drive back to California without having my engine checked. Chris was amazing. He stopped everything to run diagnostics on the engine. He explained why the engine light went on and why I didn't need to worry about it. He didn't charge me even though he spent a good half hour with me. He is honest, kind, and seems to be a great mechanic. If he lived in San Francisco he would be my new mechanic!

Chris the owner was incredibly helpful. We were visiting from out of town and he made time to diagnose our check engine light for us. Gave us an honest assessment and peace of mind for the rest of our trip. Even a few tips for hiking in Yellowstone! Really appreciate people like Chris!
