My brother purchased a brand new Orvis fly reel for our fly fishing trip to Wyoming. First day on the river the handle broke, fortunately this store was fairly close by. The staff was terribly rude about the situation and would not swap or help him out so we could get back on the river even though they had the exact same reel in store. Ive spent thousands on orvis equipment and was terribly disappointed with this store and their customer care. Not what I expected for being in such a phenomenal location.

Stopped by the store on Monday to inquire about a guided fly fishing trip for my son and myself. Guys at the store were knowledgeable and friendly, and we booked an afternoon trip on the Snake River south of Jackson. Our guide was Paul, and he was awesome!! Gave us both an amazing fly fishing lesson from the boat right before we started to fish. My son caught 6 Cutthroat and I got about 10. I highly recommended Paul for your guide! Thanks for an amazing day making memories with my 11 year old.

10 out of 5 stars!! Popped in for the free beginner class, and M.E. gave us a 2-hour private lesson! She’s a *beyond* awesome teacher and had us ready to get out on the water in no time.
If you want to try fishing but don’t know where to start (or just want to dip your toes in before dropping $600+ for a guide) this is your sign…give these folks a visit! Loved that they’re a one stop shop for learning, gear/guide service recs, and fishing spot intel.

Great experience with a knowledgeable young lady with long blonde hair. She told us about the put ins and take out and way the fish were loving. Highly recommend.

Thank you Maddi for setting me up with all the gear I needed to hit the river that same day! I appreciated your time and knowledge and gained valuable training on how to tie knots, etc. It was a great experience and you and your colleagues are doing a wonderful job.

Wonderful selection of Orvis products including clothing with unique Jackson Hole/Grand Teton touches. Very well staffed store including a greeter whose role is to point you in the right direction. The day we visited at noon on a very busy Tuesday, they were providing concierge level service to a fishing guide who was taking advantage of the excellent Orvis warranty service by returning 4 quite old Clearwater rods to Vermont for refurbishment. The greeter apparently wasn’t skilled in register work. Enormous thanks to the manager who interrupted what looked to be a half hour or hour long process which the guide probably could’ve done himself with a trip to UPS to ring us out. My passive aggressive statement of the truth, that it would be quicker for us to drive to Teton Village and make our purchases there was met with polite agreement and a 30 second processing of our merchandise. Very nice store, perhaps flagship level. Thank you Orvis JH!

As a woman, I thought going here for the first time (new to fishing entirely) was going to be daunting and I (wrongly) assumed I'd have some kind of condescending interaction with a veteran male fisher. But no!!!! The women I met here were so knowledgeable, so helpful, and so encouraging!!! I gained so much helpful information here for starting out and I feel so much more confident about working towards getting better! Couldn't reccomend this place more. Really enjoyed the information shared, and the selection of flies available. Great spot overall!
