“I spent the last year and a half bike shopping, and those 18 months are full of bad experiences with various bike shops throughout the WY-CO border region, even with high-end shops in places like Steamboat Springs. During those 18 months, there was lots of comically terrible customer service, folks who know very little about bikes, and general disinterest in being helpful.

Link Cycling is “built different.” I called the shop on a recommendation from a friend, and from the very beginning the experience with Link was phenomenal.

Melissa answered the phone and seemed genuinely interested in being helpful. When I visited the shop in person within that week, Aaron earned a sale quickly. Before I was anywhere close to knowing which bike I wanted to buy, I made up my mind that I was going to buy a bike from him — whichever one it ended up being.

Aaron’s passion for and experience with cycling pour out of him, but he also genuinely is great at customer service. Being an NFL-sized person for whom little in the world fits, I was so thankful that Aaron asked all the right questions. And then he listened, he researched, and he came up with options that could — and did — work for me. Aaron worked with my limited knowledge and various perceptions with which I entered his shop, and he used those to guide me toward the perfect bike for me. He even sold me on a less expensive bike than I was considering purchasing, because, in his words, “the specs are just better.”

And once I decided on the bike, Aaron went out of his way to make sure I was valued as a customer. He earned my trust quickly, and made various technical modifications to the bike that perfectly fit my needs. By the time he got into those, I told him, “Man, I trust you. Just do what you think is best.” And boy, did he deliver.

He took his time to explain things to me, suggest and then complete customizations to benefit my 6’7” body type and composition, and never once pushed weird up-sales like so many bike shops tend to do.

Aaron has consistently been responsive to all my lengthy emails and calls (sorry, Aaron, but thank you), and when I went in to pick up my new bike today, he again spent a very generous amount of his time to educate me, help me understand the ins and outs of my new bike, and introduce me to various products that might be of interest down the line — without any obnoxious hard-selling.

In addition to being an exceptional salesperson, Aaron knows his bikes backward and forward. I have 100% confidence in his abilities to service my bike throughout its life, let me know when things need to be serviced, replaced, or upgraded, and provide me with expert advice for whatever I might need down the line. He even offered to help me with future skill development should I want/need it (I do), and let me tell you — I’ll happily pay him for that as needs arise.

Link Cycling is a humble shop owned by humble — albeit insanely talented — folks, and it’s hard to express how much appreciation I have for them, especially Aaron. In a world of apathetic and otherwise hard-to-deal-with bike shops, Link Cycling is a Gem in the Rockies, and you better believe they’ve earned a customer for life in me — as they will in you, should you choose to give them a holler.

Link Cycling is a weirdly positive place in a world that can sometimes feel foreboding, and I hope they stay open for a long time so I can keep visiting and buying awesome stuff from them.”
