Customer service was top-notch. Every detail of what was needed for the repairs was laid out beforehand and agreed upon. The owner was pleasurable and tolerant of me and my situation. The vehicle was diagnosed quickly, and all parts discussed/ordered in a timely manner. Repairs were accomplished quickly, and I was back on the road to continue my travels. I would highly recommend Taylor Auto Repair.

We were traveling in our van from Montana back to Texas and broke down in Rawlins, they were too busy to get in to be fixed but the gentleman working there James or John (sorry) was very helpful and gave us a few ideas of what might be wrong with some advice! Couldn't have asked for more, polite, understanding, and the most help we had received! Thank you! We're in Colorado now, about 2 hours from reaching Texas border!

I worked with James after breaking down on my way out of town. He was able to help me right away and was great helping me figure out a plan. Even towed me to the nearest campsite that wasn't even officially open but they took me in! James and Taylor Auto were a helping hand when I really needed one! Highly recommended!

we started out with a truck in Rawlins at the McDonald’s that wouldn’t start, having a brand new battery, pointed toward need for a new starter. This kind gentleman arranged for a tow to his shop and a brand new starter was installed starting at 5 PM, so we could get back on the road with a snow storm bearing down on us. The repair was completed at 6:30 and in spite of the shop supposedly closing at five there was no hesitation whatsoever to help me and my dad get back on the road! I would recommend this business to anyone and if I have further need of repairs anywhere near Rawlins , I will be calling them!Services: General repairs & maintenance

We are doing a roadtrip through the country and one of our spark plugs flew out. + point: they were happy to help us within the same day and “fixed” it. They charged us 660$ for it, 120$/hour. I don’t know if that is a normal rate in the US, but I think they took advantage of us, knowing that we are not from here. Also as we asked beforehand how much that’s gonna cost we didn’t get a clear answer. Anyway, the new spark plug lasted for around 150 miles. We are having the same problem again, but are already too far away to drive back to them.

Awful experience all around. I break down on my way cross country, and have my car towed to Taylor's auto repair with a broken spindle, hub, and ABS sensor. Taylor auto service Informs me shipping will be a day, labor will consist of 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and parts will sum to around 600 dollars. I say fine, a little exorbitant but it needs to be done. Come the next day, they shadily call me insisting that the part will take two to three days to ship, and they don't work over weekends, so my one day wait has suddenly turned into five. Their alternative solution is me paying 200$(which magically increases to 250$ after some talking) for them to go "get the part themselves",all the while saying they won't have a truck in their shop for 5 days that's not being worked on, insinuating this is an either or situation that my truck will be removed following that I don't agree to their demands. I refuse, have the truck towed to a nearby shop, and they outrageously demand 316$ for "two hours" of work, consisting of removing a broken wheel hub and nothing else. A total scam to be avoided, and downright illegal practices I'm sure.EDIT to reply to response:Your unprofessional handling of the situation is the sole reason I decided to go with another auto repair. You should learn something from this rather than be upset about your public image.

While traveling across the country, we needed air for our low tire. At Taylor's Auto Repair, the guy working stopped what he was doing, filled our tire and didn't charge us. He was super nice and provided great service. Thank you.

Our tow service (Stauffer /Sean) recommended Taylor Auto Repair. He diagnosed the problem right away, was able to get the parts, had us back on the road! "Good Sam Roadside Assistance" could not find a mechanic to work on it. We were very thankful to have such great ser and service!

My sons vehicle broke down 65 miles outside of Rawlins and was towed to Taylor Auto. I was able to narrow the problem to an alternator, but felt it was worth paying a local mechanic to save time. They were able to confirm it was the alternator and then gave me an outrageous quote of over $800 for a Toyota RAV 4. Alternators for this vehicle range from $200-$300 retail. They quoted $400 part and $400 labor. By reference a local mechanic quoted half this price for the same repair. It was cheaper to drive to Rawlins, pay the $144 diagnostic plus $15 fee for using a card, trailer it back home, and pay the local shop to fix it. Which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place To me this appears to be a mechanic taking advantage of a traveler and charging over double the price. After reading the other reviews, I cannot argue against this mechanic being a crook. Avoid at all costs.Service: Electrical
