If I could get negative stars, I would. Took my truck in. They said it was the fuel pump and gave me an estimate. Then they called and started to tack on all sorts of other stuff and kept increasing the price. I told them no. Then they called again with additional items that I know I replaced within the last 2 years. Again I said no. They put it back together. We picked it up. The first day I drove it I didn’t go very far, but when I stopped the engine was spewing coolant and was smoking and steaming. They hadn’t attached all of the hoses back up. So, good thing I wasn’t going far, because my engine would have overheated and blown up. It also didn’t run right. So we took it back to them and had to fight with them back and forth because when they took the engine apart they ruined the coils. We still ended up paying them an additional $500 for what I feel was their fault. Finally got it done. We picked up our vehicle and several weeks later we started having problems again. There was no way I was taking it back to them. I took it to another mechanic who found that there was a plug that they broke, and when they put it back in, they just used the old plug and siliconed it back. It cost me $400 to have the other mechanic find it and replace it. On top of all that, my car used to fire up immediately every time. Now it takes 2-3 times of turning it over for it to start. Also, the reading on my fuel tank level is incorrect and goes from 1/2 to empty too quickly. On top of everything my husband changed a sensor and when he was underneath he found even more connections that they failed to tighten and reconnect. They ruined my car. I feel they were negligent and not honest with me.Update: 1/20/2024 Just this week I had to take my vehicle in again to replace one of the coils that they said they fixed. It was also siliconed in and not replaced so that was also another $300 that I had to pay yet again and just expecting for this to be the norm moving forward since they didn’t actually fix anything just siliconed everything like a bandaid. In reference to why we didn’t call up and complain and go back and forth with you…, We had enough of a headache with the initial repair. Back and forth and arguing with you about stuff we know we had already replaced. Why would we call again to argue even more so that we could bring it back and have more shotty work done? We didn’t trust you at that point.Service: Engine repair

HIGHLY, recommend this shop. Took my 2023 Hyundai Kona into them with a wheel problem and loss of air problem. They performed a complete diagnostics test and checked all my fluids. Found out there were a few small things wrong with the car and had it fixed. Very reasonable on price and got me in and out. Hubert who is the in shop manager took care of me and talked me through the whole process and what was wrong. Debra who is the Shop owner made sure I was well taken care of and talked to me about everything. Jay who was the service writer ordering my parts was extremely helpful and kind. Great people down there! Will be back!

Took my 2007 Ford Expedition to have a fuel pump replaced. While looking at the fuel pump, they called and asked if I wanted to replace my coils. I gave them the go ahead for the quoted price. They called again saying the ran into some issues replacing the coils, I told them forget about the coils, just do the fuel pump.Got my Expedition back, and it was misfiring. They hadn't replaced the coils they damaged. When I took it back, they said they would replace them, but I had to pay 1/2 the cost. When I got the truck back it ran good for a couple of days then it started misfiring again.Did not want to deal with them again so I took it to another shop who told me that rather than replacing some parts, they used silicone and electric tape. Also upon replacing my fuel filter, I discovered they hadn't completely reconnected some of my fuel lines. To this day my Expedition has not run right since I took it to this shop!

Car broke down while traveling through WY. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home. They were able to evaluate the problem the same day, fix it the next, and swiftly got us back on the road. They were also kind enough to drive us to and from our hotel. Their hospitality and kindness were unmatched, couldn’t recommend their shop enough!

These guys saved our vacation after we drove down from Canada and our alternator quit. They changed it quickly on a Friday afternoon, and we got to our river rafting trip on time. Thank you again!

I dropped my car off on a Monday. I was told they would diagnose it in the morning and they would call me. I had to call Tuesday to find out what the issue was. They ordered the part which was supposed to take 1 day. I had to finally call Thursday and they still had not put the part on. I got after them and told them I would pick my car up today. They called me back to say it still wasn't fixed. I'm not sure what the point of charging someone $90 for a diagnosis is if you can't figure out what's wrong. They charged me $234 to put on a air intake duct. Would not even look at me in the face or talk to me when I picked up my car. They could not be bothered to call me once to tell me what was going on. My car had more codes flashing than when i dropped it off because they pushed the antilock brake button and couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Incapable, unprofessional, and incompetent. A total ripoff.

Could not recommend this place more! I called five different shops and they all told me they wouldn’t work on the car I have. Called Rock Springs Auto and they said absolutely. Found the problem and went above and beyond to get the part in and get the car fixed before I had to leave town. Great people and great help.

Needed a oil pressure sensor replaced on my F150 while traveling with an RV. They were able to perform a diagnostic assessment on my truck within minutes and immediately began the repair. Parts availability is an issue everywhere, but these guys where able to source the right part and get me rolling that same afternoon. This quick response kept me on schedule without any additional interruption. Very appreciative of the Rock Springs Auto Repair team.

i was traveling through rock springs and my car started to act up. i looked up mechanics around the area and went with my gut and called rock springs auto. i am so glad that i did. they were able to get my car looked at quickly and had to give the bad news: the transmission was done for. debbie not only gave me phone numbers to places that could possibly help me with rental cars and places that would tow, but sat with with me and gave me kleenex because I was pretty devastated at the time. i had so much going on and rock springs auto treated me like family. it was the nicest experience i've ever had at a mechanic shop and i'm so grateful that i found their number. i stayed in their office and stood outside for 6+ hours and debbie gave me nothing but the best hospitality and support. on top of it, i didn't have a way to get to my hotel so they even offered me a ride. overall, it was a bummer what happened with my car, but stopping in at rock springs auto really lightened the load of stress and chaos you feel when something like this happens. i am recommending this shop to anyone who needs any type of service on their vehicle and wants honest, benevolent people to break the news. 5/5 stars from me, i hope i never break down in rock springs again, but i know where i'm going if i do!

After being towed into Rock Springs due to a breakdown, our tow truck driver (not affiliated with the shop) highly recommended this garage as the “best in town.” Rock Springs Auto repair took amazing care of us. They were able to diagnose and fix the issue and kept us informed throughout the process. Amazingly communicative and transparent regarding cost and time estimates, Deb & Rick (owners) not only took care of our vehicle, they also took care of our family, giving our kiddos treats and introducing us to their dog. Hubert, our mechanic, walked us through every detail of the problem and made sure we had all of the information we needed to follow up with our mechanic at home. We left feeling like we had made new friends. If we lived close, we would be regular customers! We would highly recommend!

I want to do a huge rave to Rock Springs Auto Repair. I took my Ford explorer in for a diagnostic test. They stayed in constant contact the whole time they had my vehicle. When I got home that night I noticed one of my my wheel well covers was in the back of my car so i called them the next morning and the owner got on the phone all apologizing and embarrassed and requested me to bring it right in to fix it. She actually went out in the shop to over see that it was fixed proper so if you are looking for any mechanic work for any vehicle try them, they not only stand behind their work but if u come across an issue they will gladly do anything to make it right. That to me is a true, passionate, and honest type of customer service experience that makes the difference.Services: A/C installation & repair

As my girlfriend and I were on our way back home from Idaho to Kansas, our car's engine failed about 20 miles outside of Rock Springs. We were able to limp it in the last few miles into town, and Rock Springs Auto was the first shop we came across. We pulled into their lot right as they were opening on a busy Wednesday morning, and after talking with Deb in the office, she immediately eased our stress and let us know she would do her best to get our car looked at as soon as she could. As we were waiting, Deb took time to offer us some recommendations for places within walking distance where we could get something to eat, and she continued to ease our anxiety as we were essentially stranded without a car 13 hours from home. Deb and her staff got our car looked at within an hour of us arriving, and she was so sympathetic when she had to deliver news to us that my car's engine was essentially fried and was under a larger manufacturer recall. After delivering that news, Deb and her husband took time to help us arrange our next steps, including where we could look at scheduling a tow to a dealership that would perform the recall repairs, where we could find a rental car to get the rest of the way home, and they even offered us a ride to the rental car office in town.Deb and all of the Rock Springs Auto Repair staff made one of our most stressful days as low-stress as possible, and I would highly recommend their services to anyone living in or passing through Rock Springs. We would've felt completely lost and stranded with a broke-down car 1,000+ miles from home without their guidance and generosity. I only wish we could move their shop and staff to our hometown so we could use them for every single one of our future auto-care needs!Service: Auto engine diagnostic
