Deer Haven Lodge is closed due to issue with sanitation. Lodge was closed and cannot reopen until septic issues have been corrected. This is common knowledge in mountain community.

You need to stop in and have lunch! Friendly local hospitality newly renovated motel if you're looking for a place to crash for the night!!! This establishment is one of the best establishments on the mountain. The staff is very friendly and willing to talk to you about anything they'll have a conversations with you. You do have to remember you are on the mountain so don't expect it's like things in Denver. Would recommend the whiskey bacon burger! It's a burger with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions and bacon that have been mixed into a whiskey sauce! Excellent burgers. Travis and Steff have done very well with this place!

We rented the large house and two of the cabins right next to the house for two nights for our large family gathering. Upon first arrival we noticed a musty smell like it hadn't been used in a while but we were told it was rented the night before so not sure why the smell was there. Regardless we opened the FEW windows that actually had screens on them and we were able to get rid of that smell. The second smell we noticed was gas. Upon further inspection we noticed it was coming from the stove. We guessed it was because the pilot light had been put out so we shut the propane off to the house and alerted the management. They came to relight the stove, but when turning the propane off it also turned the pilot light off on the hot water heater as well. After discussing with management, we decided they would have to wait until morning because the they didn't have a key to the supply closet to relight the water heater but the maintenance guy would relight everything in the morning because he had the key. We never heard anything about it again and no one ever showed up to fix it. Our last day of vacation we could not shower or use the stove because no one came and fixed the problem. We had to adjust our meals we had planned because we had assumed there would be an oven to cook the things we brought. We're not big complainers so we just adjusted and went on with our vacation. Other complaints are there were mouse feces in multiple places, the cabins were freezing and the heaters would not turn on, and the one we specifically rented with the TV and DVD player for kids the DVD player play button was missing so the TV was useless. After all the happened, the morning we checked out we asked management if there would be some type of compensation to us especially for the hot water problem and we were unable to use the stove the entire time. Their reply was "sorry for the inconvenience". Our family is all about not letting things spoil our fun so we weren't in lodge complaining the entire time we just assumed someone would come take care of our complaints but nothing ever happened. We didn't let it spoil our fun but to not offer us anything for our troubles was very disappointing. Especially since the place was not really the nicest thing out there. And for the price of what is offered it was very overpriced!!! We ended up paying for everything and left and sadly will never return or recommend that place to anyone. There has to be much better out there for the price they charge.

Super friendly staff, very edible food, and cold beer make this a great place to stop. Toss up between eating here or meadowlark lodge food wise, but the service is definitely slightly better here.

Awesome camping sites for RV's ..Tents or Rooms. Beautifil Big Horn Mountain setting. Electric and Water hook up. WiFi Free. Restaurant ..Store etc. Very helpful and friendly staff. See Elk and Moose and beautiful mountian streams and wilderness. Big Horns are much less crowed than Yellowstone or Tetons and just as beautiful and inviting. They are indeed beautiful mountains!
