This is a very nice gift shop and building, with lots of great items, but the best part is the group of elks that like to hang out nearby on the grass. They are there often, per the local ranger, and they are gorgeous! We sat on the bench for quite awhile just watching them. Mammoth, he said, is a favorite spot for them because they like the grassy area next to the grill, in between the grill and this shop. Worth a visit!

Small but lots of options. Part general store with tents, bear spray, flashlights, etc, part gas station convenience store with sofa and beef jerky, part quick spot to grab a brat and ice cream.Staff was really friendly. Chatty in a friendly way, recommended other places to stop in the park.

Stopped by to cool down with ice cream after a hot day hike. Recommend getting 2 scoops & sharing if you only want one scoop (better value). Flavors of mixed berry and coffee ice cream was fresh & good. We both savored our scoops to the final spoonful.Staff were friendly despite a busy storeful of tourists.

We visited most of the general stores in Yellowstone National Park. This one, like the others, doesn’t have much in the way of food - mostly swag. There is a disappointing lack of groceries or much of anything that could be considered real food - just a convenience store and concessions.

This review pertains to the grill inside the market. The employees were supper friendly, and the elk sausage stuffed with cheese and peppers was the best I've ever had. The store's beer prices were reasonable and there are some picnic tables underneath some pines outside. A very nice lunch stop.

The staff at the Mammoth General Store were friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable, and the coffee good and strong. Must stop.

Nice place, well stocked. My son and I stopped about a week ago to get some medicine that I needed, and also desperately needed to use the bathroom, like emergency! The bathrooms aren't generally open to the public, but they did make an exception and I was ever so grateful believe me! It's the dead of winter, and I would have had to go back a little ways to a bathroom I had already used a few moments before that. LOL A little graphic, but you get my drift! I love Yellowstone. My son used to work here, and on that very snowy day, there were very few cars in the park and we got to see so many bison, and in particular, a small herd crossing the road right in front of us. We saw two unbelievably enormous elk with gigantic racks, and even a very healthy looking coyote just trotting along the side of the road. If you haven't been to Yellowstone go! Winter or summer! It's just one of the best places on earth! And yes, this is a nice little store that accommodates.

This is generally a store. Yellowstone isn't the best place for shopping. It's a good place for getting out in the wilderness, seeing some elk, and getting back to nature. This is not the best place to go bargain hunting. There are scant bargains to be found in this general store. The store is mostly souvenirs, gifts, and things you'll never need again, stamped with "Yellowstone" or with a bear printed on it. A lot of the things are made and printed in China, shipped here. You can get the same gifts outside the park for a fraction of the price. I'm not sure who's profiting so much off of the ridiculous prices, but I'm pretty sure it's not all just the parks system. This place is wooden all over- like a big log cabin. It has a series of coolers in the back with ice cream and cold Cokes. They mostly sell clothing gifts emblazoned with a picture of something scenic in the park. When I went, the staff was taking their sweet, sweet time ringing things up. They were like the bison on the road to get here. Take their time, don't care if they're holding up the line, oblivious to the desires and needs of the travelers. Parking was easy, but the handicapped entrance is on the other side of the building from the handicapped parking.

Love coming here for a few basic essentials. Only one issue this time. No bread. Eggs, milk, etc , but no bread ! Weird.
