Its location is a great starting point for trips north, with a general store, gas station, and souvenir shop across the street, and a riverside walking path directly behind the building. The hotel is known for being very accommodating, even for late arrivals without bookings. Check-in is at the attached pub, which also serves decent food, and the staff works diligently to ensure guests are settled. Parking is easy. While generally positive, some aspects receive mixed feedback: the camp ground is great but its laundromat and bathrooms are noted as never cleaned, and the water system in the hotel could use improvement. Despite minor issues, it serves as a wonderful warm-up spot in extreme cold and a reliable base for exploring the quiet town or unwinding.

Camp ground is great, except one of the workers kept taking his smoke breaks at my picnic table, not very considerate of the people renting that spot.
Laundromat and bathrooms/ showers are never cleaned.

Had a great stay here. They were very accommodating considering we came in really late and didn't book ahead. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was really glad they had a room because there is really nothing else available this time of year in the Carmacks area.

Hotel Carmacks strikes a balance between comfort and charmm. Housekeeping and linen standards were excellent though the water system could use some improvement.
Carmacks is a quiet town, so the hotel becomes your base for enjoying the river, sightseeing, or just unwinding
