About Sign Post Forest
Sign Post Forest is a unique and interesting place with a long history. It features over two acres of signs from visitors around the world, all started by a homesick soldier in 1942 during the construction of the Alaska Highway. Over the years, people have added signs from their hometowns, including license plates, street signs, and other personal items like signed boots or even a toilet seat. Visitors can spend hours walking through the forest, exploring the diverse signs, and taking their time to look at the many unique and creative displays. It’s a fun place to bring a sign from your own town or to create a new one while meeting other travelers. The site offers a one-of-a-kind experience, blending history with personal stories, making it a memorable stop for everyone who visits.
