PetSmart
1225 Industrial Rd, San CarlosMiso had his first grooming appt with Weyla. My pup is a rescue mutt so I wasn't sure what type of instructions I should give for his first hair cut. Weyla has an artist eye and gave me her suggestions and they were exactly what I had in mind. Miso can get nippy when nervous. She told me she just took a break and calmly explained to him she was trying to help. That's the type of patience I want in my groomer. Omg he went in looking like he was living in the jungle his whole life and came out a new dog. Thank you Weyla!!!

Animal Dental Clinic
987 Laurel St, San CarlosProbably one of the most professional pet dental care place in peninsula. Both doctor Riggs and Farcas are very experienced and professional. It’s probably more costly than other places but I think it’s worth it because of the assurance that your loved pets are in good hands

Pet Sitting & Training
Holiday Kennels
221 Old County Rd, San CarlosLeaving your dogs for a few days is not easy for anybody, especially when your dogs are very close to you as April and Bianca are to me and my wife. However, Holiday Kennels does a great job taking care of them. For that reason, we wouldn’t leave them in any other boarding. Rusty and the rest of the team are amazing. Our dogs love them! During weekends, my wife and I send them messages asking for pictures, and they will send them right away! The bath and nails service is also really good (and the best price in the neighborhood).

number5kitchen
663 Laurel St, San CarlosIt's really funny that my wife and I just tonight had our first meal at Number5Kitchen. We live four blocks away, have admired the concept and the menu since it opened, have had pizza there (next-level-awesome) several times, but have never--until tonight--gotten it together to have dinner there. We plan to be back...frequently. The experience was every bit as enjoyable as we have long expected. Because we went early on a Thursday night we had a chance to have really interesting conversation with Henry, the owner / chef. I'm not certain about his detailed background, but he CLEARLY is an accomplished chef, and he seems to know everything about the restaurant / foodie scene from the Peninsula to San Francisco, and for all I know, everywhere else. We were in the mood for something "light" and tasty, and the meal we had fit this perfectly. We started by splitting the "seasonal salad". The greens were fresh and perfect, it had fresh Albion strawberries, balanced by pickled green strawberries and had just the perfect amount of a very subtle dressing. My wife had the scallops. I tried just a taste and, yep, I thought it was the most perfectly-prepared scallop I've ever tasted. I had steak au poivre, and it was amazing. I don't know / remember what cut of beef it was, but it was perfectly cooked, cut into single bite-sized slices, served with a subtle au poivre sauce and accompanied by a couple of delicious fingerling potatoes and some of the best french fries I've ever had. And the french fry comment has to be compared with "frites" we just had on our recent vacation in Belgium (where they are justifiably famous). Henry's fries are better than we had in Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp! And, you know, the bill--with a couple of glasses of nice wine, was VERY reasonable. Thanks Henry! We will be back early and often!

The Refuge (San Carlos)
963 Laurel St, San CarlosBest Pastrami Ruben in the Bay Area, hands down. Service is outstanding but not overly attentive. Ambiance is great. Belgian beers on tat as well as an outstanding bottled selection. Gets crowded fast so get there early. Casual dress. I highly recommend this eatery.

Stamp Bar & Grill
773 Laurel St, San CarlosWe ordered the oxtail stew which was VG, served over risotto with veggies. Two friends ordered the prefixed lunch for $20 which was bbq ribs, veggies, and mashed potatos. Not a big order but they were satisfied. We would definitely go back to try other dishes off the menu. Give this place a try.

My Breakfast House
1137 Laurel St, San CarlosMy Breakfast House located in San Carlos, California in my opinion the best place for a great breakfast especially the Omelets and Hash Browns. I ordered a create your own Omelet and Hash Browns, it included mushrooms, sausage, and Monterey jack cheese along with some Tapatio Hot Sauce and this breakfast hit the spot especially with the side of Hash Browns, coffee, and orange juice. I went with some friends, and they ordered the Raisin Bread French Toast combo over medium eggs and country potatoes, the other friend ordered Chicken Fried Steak, Sunnyside up eggs, Hash Browns, and sourdough bread. All three of us were very happy and satisfied with our order, and the service was fantastic, they greeted us with a big smile. I cannot say enough good things about My Breakfast House and yes, the Ambiance with wonderful too. In closing, I do highly recommend My Breakfast House for a great breakfast any morning.

Noelani's Island Grill
1037 Laurel St, San CarlosThe sliders were great, with incredibly good slaw. The pork and katsu were just perfect. I didn’t love the potato salad; not a big fan of olives in that personally. But I can’t wait to go back to get those sliders again.
