They have a book that tells what they're looking for with pictures and I had a lot of the things in the book that were name brand like missguided, fashionnova, hm, etc. still in season and they took 2 pair of jeans and none of the dresses and skirts I brought that could be good spring transitional wear lol. So nothing that was from the examples in the book lol. And they'll say the never worn items (American eagle jeans and hm skirts, i.e.) have wear on them or stains or aren't trendy. And you'll ask yourself, "not trendy for whoooo?" lol. Selling there is very hit and miss and you have to have the DEMOGRAPHIC of the PEOPLE they are selling to in mind and it is very specific. Your personal style isn't theirs and even though I've been flabbergasted by things they haven't taken, you have to remember that. It isn't urban, streetwear, or high fashion, it's college kids and teenagers in an Alabama town. No offense. All your nice stuff that gets rejected, sell on poshmark or Depop. OR try another location with a different demographic. I've sold a lot in Montgomery! But if you're looking for accessories, shoes, loungewear, or comfy clothes for cheap, as a buyer it's a good place to go. Got my outfit for a nicki minaj concert there.

Honestly, overall I feel it has a lot to do with racism.. they definitely low ball and most definitely judge a book by its cover. However when I want to get rid of something I do just that.. I took a coach bag it was very nice I paid a nice price for it.. when I went to Miami and these idiots gone give me $22 dollars LOL.. weak you know I’ve been reading the reviews and dying to see was it really like that.. and sadly yes I have two of the same bags.. so it wasn’t a problem. I’m not in need of anything… there definitely getting over..

Everything is crammed into a tiny bit of square footage. Based on just what I've witnessed on my last two visits the foot traffic in this establishment is incredible yet the desire to expand into a larger building is obviously on a backburner. Also think a platos kids section would do well.

Costumer service is so bad. I’ve been going to this Plato’s for a while now and they made me wait to check out for 15 minutes WITHOUT telling me why, after a line had formed behind me, they then in front of all the people behind me, accused me of stealing. After I told them I could show them I didn’t steal they told me it was not necessary but I looked suspicious. Very unprofessional and just a very confusing and frustrating encounter! Just kinda a problematic store. Great clothes awful service! ?

I took a lot of clothes, some only worn once and two bags of barely worn shoes. One pair was an exact match to a pair they had for sale just a different size, and they were given back to me (I’ve never wore them- they didn’t match the outfit they were bought for and I didn’t take them back to the store). I had a brand new Lily Pulitzer dress, with tags still on it, no stains, only wore to try it on and it was given back to me. Before I went I read they don’t accept torn items or stained items so I made sure the items I took fit that category. I picked up a pretty ivory sweater that I wanted to buy but put it back due to a stain on the front of it. I also picked up a Nike skort. When I turned it to look at the back, the side of the fabric was ripped. It’s very frustrating to take good quality clothes, some still with original tags, and 95% of it be given back. I understand everyone has their own opinion of what’s “in style” but there is no way most of what I brought is considered out dated. Especially when a lot of it was bought with the past year. Maybe they stopped looking through my stuff when I walked over to home goods because I had done made two passes through the store and was tired of looking through clothes. Either way, I’ve only been in this store 3 times in my life, two have been in the last two weeks, and I can confidently say I won’t be back. I know losing my business will not have any effect on the success of this location, but hopefully my review can help someone else.

Love this place. I am a big Sneaker Head and find some ? here sometimes. This platos prices are waaaaaaay cheaper than any other platos I've been to. It's hard to find size 12 shoes at most thrift stores but this ones got my size most times.

This place is a literal joke. Gave me $0 for practically new on clouds. Also did I mention the girls were rude and condescending. Looked around and they have several dirty Nikes, stained pants, and quiet literally the ugliest clothes.

The inside was nice. But as far as selling goes, for some reason this location lowballs you to the highest degree. They offered me like $40 for a ton of shoes I brought in, so I declined. I went to a different location the very same day and was given more money.

I love Plato’s , the clothes are very cute and affordable. Depending on if you look very well, there are many items that still has tags on them. However, the customer service will be this places biggest downfall. In todays time people want to feel “respected” and “comfortable” when spending money or trying to make money. The shift leader here ,not sure her name, is very rude and “nice nasty”. She gives off this energy as in she doesn’t want to help any African Americans. There are no African Americans that work in this store and when any are hired, their stay at this location is not long at all. I’ve sold clothes and also have purchased a lot of clothes. Depending on their mood, they most of the time don’t even look at clothes to see that they are new, in style and of good quality. I do think race plays a huge part in this particular store. Many customers has experienced this. I think shopping online and other places are my only choice. I do not feel comfortable spending any money at this location or either experiencing the dark energy of the workers here.

The store is disorganized to shop in and could use an update. As for the clothes-buying, it seems more like they buy based on their personal style than a general guideline. Also I’ve seen stains, tears, and other signs of wear on a good bit of the clothing they take in. Overall the experiences I’ve had at the store are just kind of disappointing.

Don't waste your time bringing bags over to this place. I had three bags filled with American Eagle Adidas Nike. They took none of it. The funny thing is some of it. I actually bought there and never even worn. I also had brand new pair of Nike in the bag, Auburn apparel a brand new pair of American Eagle sandals. I think some of the workers there are just too lazy to go through the bag.

Very hit or miss, the items are usually on trend because its a college town but very cheap brands. It is not uncommon for stained/ripped/broken zipper items to make it into the floor. Shop with caution

DONT WAIST YOUR TIME!! I took 2 bags full of CURRENT LOCAL BOUTIQUE clothes in and they only wanted 1 pair of used Nike shorts ! The clothes they have for sale have stains and look like they were 10 plus years old ! I don't know what they "but" from sellers but they do not buy quality clothes for sure ! I also watched them as they "sorted" and have the things they pull out of the bags they toss away and don't even look at them . TOTAL WAIST OF THE 45 minute wait !!?!
