Booked through Costco and found the best rate from Alamo. I arrived at BHM airport and was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable attendant. She processed our paperwork in a timely matter. Received a brand new car also!!Had it for 10-12 days. Also the price for Alamo to refill the car was almost .30 cheaper than gas stations in the area. When I returned the car I was greeted by a young man that asked all the right questions and directed us to the check in for our departure.Thank you Alamo for a pleasant car rental experience!

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE!! Will give you the run arounds. Called 3 times two weeks prior to our reservation to confirm that we won’t need a returning or departing flight reps stated we didn’t need either to rent a car from here. Black lady with blonde & black long braids very rude, excessive attitude as well as getting loud and cursing at me because I was showing my frustration due to me receiving false information! She even walked away to go drive a returned car to a parking spot. Lied and stated we could go to Budget to rent a car when we made it they stated the same information. Even though the signs direct you to the inside counter you still have to go back into the parking garage to be helped in the freezing cold. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Rip off artists.My flight was delayed for 24 hours , so alamo decided I now could not pick up my prepaid rental 24 hours later and telling me to pay again for a new rental. Stay away from this unscruplulous company.Updated- fake response below does not mean they followed up..just some window dressing here

I have been using alamo since 2019 at least. This last experience was by far THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I was traveling to Birmingham, AL this past weekend and had a family emergency and had to go up to Montgomery, AL. However my drop off location was still Birmingham. So I called customer service and spoke with them and was told it would be 128$ drop off fee. At that moment I had an emergency and didn't care about the fee. My flight out of Montgomery was supposed to be at 6:21 so I needed to drop off at least by 4am. They scheduled my drop off time for 4am and charged my card the 128$. I went to look at the airport to see where the alamo drop off was located and it showed that they didn't even open until 8am. When I called customer service they told me that I couldn't drop it off until they opened. Now I have been able to do early drop offs before at other alamo locations and was confused. I was even more confused because when I called the 1st time they should've informed me before charging my card. I explained my flight time and they even booked the drop off for 4am. They told me to get someone else to drop it off later. Completely inconsiderate. So in order to avoid wasting money AND missing my flight, I had to send 2 of my family memebers on through the Montgomery flight. Then drive back and hour and a half to Birmingham to drop off the car and try to catch a flight out of Birmingham. The fact that no one thought to tell me when I explained my situation that the alamo in Montgomery wasn't open or had an early drop off system and even scheduled me for a 4am drop off put a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth when it comes to alamo. The even CRAZIER part is that my card company block a attempt charge of 1,157.79$. Thank God my card company blocked it and no one from customer service can explain why that happened. I still have the picture of my card company message saying they blocked the charge. I need someone from alamo to contact me and make this right.

Have rented from the Alamo location before but I have to say that the service this time was great. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I expected it to be busier than usual. We got to the counter and Aleiyah greeted us as she finished up with her customers. It was such a smooth transaction. Then Mason was in the garage to meet us with the vehicle we were getting. Upon return Nick the assistant manager helped us and we were on our way. Awesome and friendly staff. Will def rent from the location again.

For some reason, all the rental car companies at BHM never seem to have your car ready when you arrive. Alamo is no exception. We had to wait 45 min. for a car and they had to give us one we didnt reserve. The pathetic service at BHM has been this way for years. Im sorry I had to dis you on this review, but come on folks, get your act together.

I travelled to Birmingham with 7 people (2 adults, 5 kids) and rented a minivan for the occasion. When we arrived they didn’t have a minivan and blamed it on the corporate office allowing them to be overbooked. They had to drive a car in from another lot and it was a normal size SUV that could not accommodate 7 people and our luggage adequately. All of this is occurring at midnight so we are standing around in the parking garage waiting for our car that we didn’t ask for that wasn’t big enough for us. The agents said that they usually charge more for the SUV they gave us acting like they were doing us a favor by giving us the SUV. They offered a discount of $75 for the bill which is a joke. Not sure that we will even see that as we the receipt they emailed me doesn’t have that recorded. Really poor effort by Alamo all around.

Car was great. There was nobody at the Alamo counter, so we had to go the national counter, not a huge deal. The people at the National counter were nice, the car was very nice, nicer than expected actually. My main complaint is that we booked on Expedia, and once we got to the counter and actually went to pay,the price ended up being significantly more after all the fees and whatnot. I'm talking $200-300 more than the original booked price. So beware of that, but otherwise it wasn't a bad experience.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Made a reservation two weeks ahead of time, was told no vehicle available upon arrival from airport, was told I had to wait two hours or longer to get a vehicle. Desk reception was disengaged and made no apologies, only refered us to the website to make a complaint. Will never use Alamo again. Ever.

Good sized KIA SUV. It was clean, ran well, good trunk space.Fairly easy to get in / out of BHM.
