Shelby at the Summit in Birmingham store was amazing today (2/21/25)! She spent so much quality time representing us today with an ongoing problem of trying to disconnect our landline and terminate charges from Uverse that have been on our bill since 11/2021when DIRECTV was installed by an ATT technician. Last Friday we were there for the same situation. Shelby stuck with us and successfully solved our problem by working through Melissa at Direct TV. Shelby kept at it until we had confirmation that our situation was now resolved. She is a great representative of AT&T and made us feel confident as long term members. Thank you Shelby. My review of ATT itself would be 1 star but this store and especially Aeirian was so helpful and patient with me and other department personnel. She is great asset to a company that needs all the help they can get. Thank you again Aeirian!

SUBJECT: Concern Regarding Service Experience at AT&T
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the treatment, my 80-year-old mother received during her visit to the AT&T store located at 4700 US-280 Suite 5 Birmingham, Alabama, on February 8, 2025.
What should have been a straightforward process of changing her internet service to her new address quickly escalated into a troubling experience. The store required my father's death certificate for the service transfer as it was originally in his name. Unfortunately, during this visit, my mother was persuaded into signing a two-year lease for DirectTV, despite her hesitations and efforts to take time to consider the offer.
Upon learning about this, my sister and I promptly went to the AT&T store to rectify the situation and request the removal of the unnecessary service. Upon our arrival, we explained our visit/reasons to the manager, who responded curtly, informing us that there were three customers ahead of us. Although we were unprepared for a wait of two hours, we remained patient.
When it was finally our turn, the same manager and employee who had helped my mother previously came to assist us. They retreated into a back room without providing any explanation for their actions. After several minutes of uncertainty, my mother knocked on the door only to be met with a similar knock from the other side and a dismissive response from the manager who rudely insisted they were not "back there eating dinner" but still failed to clarify their intentions.
Moreover, the manager exhibited condescending behavior towards my mother repeating her planned errands that he had shared earlier (down to the restaurantshe ate at), as if she were uncapable incapable of remembering them. The manager implied that my mother's decision to keep the unwanted service was influenced by her daughters, to which I corrected her by asserting that my mother herself did not want the service, but felt pressured into it.
This experience highlights a severe lack of professionalism and respect from the manager. The store's motto promises "prompt friendly service you deserve," which clearly was not upheld during our visit.
I strongly advise anyone with elderly parents to accompany them to this store, to prevent similar negative experiences. Or better yet, seriously consider alternatives to AT&T for both internet and cellular services. My mother will no longer be returning to this location due to the issues encountered.

Walked in. Waited 10 min and no one said not ONE word. Granted everyone was busy, but great everyone who comes in and tell them you will be with them when they can. Just don’t ignore your patron. Many people walked in/out.

Recently had the displeasure of spending 4 and a half hours in the Inverness location. Needed a line opened for a smart watch. Ultimately left after being berated by the manager but still with no cellular service to the watch. Also was denied my request to cancel the line that I had just opened as it was essentially useless to me. A day later received an apology text from the manager asking me to come in and give her a chance to “make things right”. Not sure why things couldn’t have been made right in the 4 and a half hours I spent in-store?
I’m still debating my options but am strongly considering changing carriers. It was a disappointing and honestly appalling experience. **the employees who identified themselves as “reps” were courteous and tried to be as helpful as they could. The manager, however, was extremely disrespectful.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. We arrived at 1pm. At 2:10, I pointed out that we had been waiting over an hour for service. An associate came over and said it would be a wait. When we said all we needed was a sim card, she said it would still be a wait and that we were welcome to go to another location if we didn't want to wait. At this point, I had already wasted an hour at this location and did not want to go to another one, so I decided I would just get what I needed online. This store is poorly managed and run. Having worked in customer service before, I can say that it is considered poor customer service to leave customers standing around for an hour without a word. No one told us upon arrival that there would be a significant wait. I managed to schedule an oil change and call AT&T customer service while waiting.
