Avadian has branches in smaller communities, but they [Birmingham] certainly do not support the everyday person in smaller communities. Their employee handbook changes each week. No stars at all.

Horrible. Won't hire staff for the drive through. I've been through maybe a dozen screwed up transactions over the last several years, some very large (deposits, withdrawals, wire transfers, even checks incorrectly drafted). Avoid. If you don't wish to heed my advice check your account EVERY day and budget in some time to be on the phone/visiting the branch a lot.

i love this branch! it can be difficult to get to/very small parking lot BUT the staff is always so incredible! Tracie specifically always goes above and beyond to make me feel special!

Good luck reaching Avadian's Member services dept! I cannot use the online services because my member number is being rejected. I've tried calling multiple times and not only are there long wait times, they close at 5PM. I don't have a physical location b/c they closed it, so I'm more than frustrated by the lack of support and options. If you want service, choose another institution.

Bad customer service, try to open in account due to Covid they told me to sit outside, ok cool waited for over an hour and no contacted me. Went in to check and they were walking out for lunch.

10/18/2020At Avadian Credit Union, in Homewood, Alabama, my brother and I always receive professional and friendly service. Kaity and Bonnie have both helped us with a number of questions we had, and the tellers are so very nice too. I am sorry that I do not remember all their names. The security guard is also so very nice. We highly recommend Avadian Credit Union. God bless! Mark N Tim Elders

I have been in banking for years and it always bugs me to see the way other banks handle their drive thrus. I went in last week to make my car payment though the drive thru and as I pulled up, only the window was open and there were two cars in front of me. We sat there 10 mins, unmoved, until I got frustrated and got out of the car and left my friend in the vehicle to wait in the drive thru as I went in to make my payment. As I was in there, I overheard the BM talking to the person in the drive thru (the same one that had already been there at least 10 mins, no telling how long they were there before I pulled up) and she was telling the customer she called multiple different people to try to get approval for cashing a check and she was unable to but she still stood there another 5-10 mins AT THE DRIVE THRU talking to the client, trying to explain the situation, the policy etc and she was very loud and you could hear everything that was said.... This isn't how a drive thru is supposed to work. If someone is going to take THAT long in the drive thru, you are supposed to ask them to pull around and come in so you can continue servicing your waiting clients while also having someone readily available to help the person who is coming from the drive thru.Not only is it slow but it's a risk to clients when you air their personal business loudly on the speaker because you didn't think to bring them into an office with a closed door.*This is something that still happens to this day. This ACU is the only one close enough to my job that I can make it to during lunch and every time, the drive thru is lined up, with 10+ min waiting times.*

I have never ever had bank employees behave so unprofessionally. They call a d require you give your social security number on the phone. Any time they have called the 1st question is what's your social. In this day and age, I dont give out my social via phone to anyone. Then the overall tone of the employee was surly and patronizing. Most importantly, you cant use your money because they place limits on your daily spending as if they know what each person would like to spend each day. My advice is stay away from Avaidian. As soon as I can, I am closing all 5 accounts I have with them. I just count myself lucky that I never applied for or received a home loan with them. I can only imagine the grief that would have caused.

This branch is terrible. The drive through is ridiculously slow and everytime I go there I spend nearly an hour waiting. It shouldn't take an hour to get five or six cars through the line. The ATM machine at the front of the branch does not accept cash deposits, and with their lobby still closed becuase of covid-19 everyone is forced to use the drive through. If you could do cash deposits at the ATM there wouldn't be as many people complaining about drive through times. I've talked to multiple people about this branch and no one seems to care. Seperatly, the online banking app is terribly slow.

I have an auto loan with Avadian and the process took forever. I was very disappointed. I did my previous auto loan with the Hoover location and it was simple and easy. Ms. Wilkerson also added loan insurance without discussing it with me. I had no idea I was paying for something I didn’t need. It was very poor customer service

I have been a member since 1977 or 78. I have multiple accounts for a reason. Now with this single online login they are basically merging the accounts and apparently you have to jump through hoops to stop the change INSTEAD of opting into the change which would make sense. As of right now my frustration level is high enough to change banks!
