I booked a rental car days in advance. I received the confirmation email yesterday. When I arrived to pick up my car this morning at 9am, I was informed they had no cars available to rent. They did not have a single car at this rental car facility. The customers in front of me with reservations were told the same. I had to drive 20 minutes to the Avis at the airport and pay $60 more bc I didn't get the same online rate. I spent half an hour on the phone with corporate to get a refund for my original reservation. They would not refund me my money without proof of paying for a second rental car from the same company which I thought was strange. They would not give me the cost difference for the second rental. This set my travel plans behind by 2 hours.

Never have rentals ?? never see. Anything like this, Everytime I call or stop by it's no we don't have nothing. Just shut the whole facility down asap

Ignore these previous bad reviews, they have obviously made some drastic changes at this location. I rented a car from the airport location and it was much larger than I wanted for this particular trip. I called this Avis on 1/24/24 around 10:30am. Not only were both of the gentleman working here some of the most positive people I've encountered, but they took care of me despite not having to. The locations are not technically affiliated, but the guys there put me into a car that will better suit my needs on this trip. Also, I still get to return it to the airport so no hassle on me when I leave Birmingham. A thousand thank yous to both of the amazing employees you had on site today. I highly recommend this Avis location!!

After a mess up at another agency, I rented an SUV from Avis at the last minute and am SO HAPPY that I did. The agents on duty, Kavarre and Rodney, went above and beyond in assisting me with the rental. They were both professional and compassionate, traits that aren't often seen together these days. I'd encourage anyone reading this to disregard the previous negative reviews. Avis must have listened and made significant improvements to the Colonnade office. Plus, Avis offers an awesome discount for AARP members. I'm renting another car with them this week.

So, Kavarra(I wrote down your name, but I lost my note on the spelling of it. I apologize.) He was thoroughly helpful. This is as good as any customer service that I have ever had at a place of business. Situation was:2 days before Thanksgiving Day.My vehicle went out of commission.I had to get to Florida.I have booked a rental car maybe one or two times in maybe 14 years I was legally old enough to do so.I went on Expedia since I did not know my options.I picked Avis out of a list, that's all.Caught an Uber to location with some of my luggage.Did not realize I had not reserved correctly; meaning, I did not have a reservation yet.The gentleman directed me what I had to do first on my reservation, even though he said he did not have a car in that class.He said, "we are gonna upgrade ya, man. Where are you going?" I told him. He directed his rep, told me what vehicle, upgraded me to a vehicle in a class that my budget would not even be close to showing for such a long reservation(several days). He did this just to honor the reservation and get me to my destination. Mind you, he is not making as much off of this since I received a banking holiday pricing via Expedia.So, he took into account the space I needed and gave me a different class that fit all my gear.Class act. Didn't send me over to airport which would have cost me another Uber ride and taken time.I see the other reviews, yet, I'm from out of state, know no one there, have zero connections, nearly zero experience, and i was still dealt with in a professional manner.Key takeaways - customer service on phone and in person was excellent. DO NOT take what Expedia tells you as accurate in any way about a auto rental.The man Got The Job Done. Closers keep a business running!I have since had a terrible service from Budget at a different location. Perhaps these things vary from person to person since vehicles, services, etc... Are nearly identical? Something to consider before renting.From now on, I will walk in first, whenever possible. Although, in my case it was not.Good work Kavarra.- G

Avoid this location at all costs. Made a reservation yesterday and was told that 48hrs was required in order for them to get a car ready (only got one call which I missed at 9am…no other attempts made to contact me). Was met by two employees with an unprofessional attitude who made it very clear they didn’t want to do anything to help. Office was gross. Enterprise on Columbiaba Rd. answered my call in 5 minutes and saved my trip with fantastic customer service.

like a lot of reviewers stated before : the person there on a Saturday morning clearly did not want to be there . i was told he is the manager too. Initially said they had no vans and will give a smaller Suv. when asked if we can get in airport he said he will get it from airport which was nice. then starts the rude part again. 30 mins later 2 vans came from the airport and he just locked the office and left . comes back after an hr to give the car . horrible service with no printer working and won't even give u an estimate.3 days later. same story when u goto return. no printer to give a receipt. this was a diff person who was nicer . so called avis customer service for receipt and they say they have not checked you in as car returned yet. wait another hour for them to do the checkin process properly and get a ereceipt. never ever this avis again.

Above and beyond is not enough to describe how Kendall and Eric helped me out tonight. After a failed drop off, the Two Gentlemen took matters to their own hands to help me out. Working way after hours they were able to find a vehicle so that I could find my way home they were incredible and I am very grateful for them. Six stars service.

It was an awful experience. I went to pick up my car and the door had a sign stating that they will be back in an hour and a half. No one called to tell me this and I was on my lunch. I had to transfer my reservation to the airport location and pay more. Customer service was very rude and clearly didn’t care. No courtesy call or anything to inform me that they were closed for over an hour. Never AGAIN

The morning counter woman clearly did not want to be there. Rude, told me they had no cars, managed to find one parked out front then told me I didn't have a reservation, lo and behold she found it and we were on our way after 30 wasted minutes in a car a class under what I paid for. Next time Hertz!
