There's so much to take in at this park. Beautiful scenery, nice and cool. Friendly staff and patrons. The only thing that I noticed and uncomfortable with was the big pond in the Japanese Garden area had a lot of chemical pollution (PFAS/PFOS). They are widely used in non stick/water repellents. They're long lasting chemicals that break down very slowly over time and has pretty bad health risks once it gets in the body and builds over time. How you know it's present is all the clusters of bubbles on the surface. One of the chemical is hydrophilic and the other side is hydrophobic making it float. I wouldn't touch the water if I were you.

Visiting Birmingham recently for a family wedding, my wife and I made a point of seeing the sites of the city and were incredibly pleased to discover this lovely park. With walking paths winding through carefully curated gardens, it offers a lovely getaway amid the greater urban environment. What is more, the gift shop is lovely, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

We love visiting the gardens. It is one of the best places to watch birds in Birmingham, it has comfortable walking paths and is very accessible. The grounds are always in great shape and everyone there is friendly. Just visited yesterday--we try to visit a few dozen times each year. It’s also a great place just to enjoy a stroll. It’s one of those places where you frequently hear multiple languages spoken because it brings people from all over. The wildflower gardens are nice. Though we often forget to visit, the Japanese Gardens are very enjoyable as well.

Absolutely stunning place, of course we came in the Fall but there was a lot still blooming. I can only imagine what Spring time looks like up here! It's huge! Could easily spend all day here if you're a nature lover like myself just taking in the wonderful sights and the magnificent smells. Ended up leaving with some plants and it's Free to walk in. Mobile and surrounding places need to take note. Will definitely be back

If you plant enough seeds of happiness, it will spread like wildfire and become contagious. It's why I adore botanical gardens. The seeds of happiness is everywhere in the gardens. Came here to close out my trip to Birmingham and enjoyed the transition from fall. Since it was mid September it was toasty so make sure you hydrate. Cannot believe they do not charge for admission so come often, stay long and enjoy a break from the fast pace of life.It is well maintained and so many areas to wander and spend time. I loved the greenhouses and veggie garden. But my favorite were the paths that led to the woods and secluded areas that transport you out of the city noise. It's literally smack dab in the middle of the downtown vibrant area of Mountain Brook. Was looking forward to lunch at the cafe but bummed it was closed and there was no notice or information that advise you. The staff at the gift shop are so friendly and take such care to wrap your purchased items. The gift shop is wonderful, stocked with adorable gift items, jewelry, and cute souvenirs. They offer seasonal plants at such a bargan. I swear you can create your own beautiful garden purchasing the plants available here. Gardens are always a good idea. Indulge a little or a lot. But you'll leave smiling from ear to ear for hours, even days after the visit.

Beautiful garden to visit and explore for any occasion. It's free entry, full of gorgeous plants to take pictures of and with, and has plenty of swings, benches, and shaded areas to take a break by.If you're passing through the area or need a break from traveling on a long road trip, definitely a good spot to stretch your legs.

This was a beautiful outing for our family. It's a nice romantic place for couples too.I thought the children 5 and 9 would be bored, but they weren't. They had fun.

Came here on a hot September afternoon (in the '90s) and just wanted to say: bring yo water/hydration with you! Unbelievable this is free, and the gardens are a lot bigger than expected. Beautiful flora and fauna, and had a variety of greenery - from the tropical paradise in the greenhouse to the veggie garden (even had cotton growing!) to the bamboo shoots with the turtles and koi fish!Got away with wearing slippers. The gift shop at the front is cute, and all the plants in the front for sale would be dangerous if I lived here.

Absolutely delightful place to visit. It is well organized, it has a nice mix of trail like hikes and flowery gardens, some of them consisting of fruits and vegetables. It’s even better when you consider it is entirely free, as all these cultural spaces should always be. They’ve done a great job at organizing the plant life in different sections. Wonderful destination to spend a few hours, and there’s an area with restaurants and shops just 2 minutes away by car. %100 recommended you visit these gardens, I will surely stop by every time I’m in town. A walk around here enjoying nature is good for your health and good for the soul.

How amazingly gorgeous! Could have spent days and days exploring. Used the Nikon and the iPhone so many spots to stop and enjoy the gardens and just breathe. Parking and admission is free! This was well worth the heat of July .

I attended the Safe Summer Series here. Everything was really nice until it wasn't. Unfortunately, the rain ended the event prematurely. I really was looking forward to hearing some Carl Thomas!! Nevertheless, I enjoyed being at the Bham Botanical Gardens on a Sunday afternoon amongst a great crowd. It was a vibe! Sadly , I didn't take any photos. Had way too much going on and once the rain started ... it was a wrap. Ugh- I know!I already plan to visit again soon because I just don't come here enough.Bham is home to some really amazing & beautiful landmarks. This one is definitely worth checking out ; whether you're a local or a tourist.

While on my work contract in Birmingham, I unexpectedly discovered the city's Botanical Garden and was pleasantly surprised by its charm. It's truly a hidden gem that should not be missed. The conservatory, with its breathtaking beauty and vastness, left me in awe. Additionally, the garden itself offers a diverse range of areas to explore, providing something for everyone to enjoy. If you haven't had the chance to visit yet, I highly recommend it.

We spend Sunday morning walking around the garden. This place is big and well maintained. Easy walkways, clear name tags for vegetations. We like the Japanese garden section the most. The Koi’s pond is nice. The rose garden would be awesome when in season. Parking is limited but free just have to get here early. Did I mentioned that it’s free? Well done city of Birmingham. Cheers
