We drove through urban-feeling neighborhoods to reach this remodeled Victorian home, adjacent to the University of Alabama Birmingham campus. The hosts kept in close touch via text, providing detailed arrival and check-in procedures as well as directing us specifically to our room, the YinYang Room. Guest rooms are on the second floor, accessed by a wide staircase with heavy wooden banisters. Entering our room we found a hand-written greeting from our host.We liked Tree House so much because of its fun and funky decorations, furnishings and paint schemes. The overall yoga-studio ambiance, colorful handmade artworks and the signs bidding you “Welcome, beautiful human!” emanate a gentle and positive atmosphere. Interior spaces are roomy with built-ins, dark heavy woodwork, high ceilings, and a large, airy sun porch on the second level. I felt, strangely, young again!—like a college student who’d stopped in to visit friends rooming in a big old house near the U. Other guests wandered by and engaged in impromptu discussions.I rate the comfort level here as moderate, for two reasons. First, YinYang room never got dark at night, owing to the light from the police station across the street and the ambient light coming through the large glass transom above our door. Second, I found the breakfast choices somewhat spare, although I enjoyed a cup of lemon tea. Otherwise, the bedroom with its ornamental strings of lights and the bathroom with its rainbow shower curtain were quite comfortable.Adding value to our stay was the convenient location, a two-block walk to several restaurants and close to the Five Points area with its many interesting-looking shops. We very much enjoyed our time here and would gladly stay at Birmingham Tree House again.

The Birmingham Tree House caught my eye a couple of years ago on social media and I have been yearning to get there ever since! I finally made it this past weekend for a Yoga and Writing retreat and it was FANTASTIC (I could write a review on that but this is about the Tree House). I stayed in the Air room and it was a dream... clean, comfortable and detailed (much like the entire house). The location was fabulous... walking distance to delicious restaurants but what really makes the place so special is the care, love, and intention from the owner and staff. They genuinely care about you and your experience. The food they share, the words exchanged...all heart felt and nourishing. I had never been to Alabama before but I will surely be back!Thank you Renny and team!

Wonderful 1890s restored home in Birmingham with such a calm vibe and yoga studio on the first floor. All the rooms were large and our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is included and has make-your-own yogurt, bagels, oatmeal and fruit with coffee, tea, etc. There is a roomy front porch with comfy chairs and a sunny sitting room above that is glorious for sitting and reading or breakfast. Clawfoot tub was fun but no worries- if you aren’t a bath person, the shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. The owners have created a wonderful, cozy place just a few minutes from downtown, walking distance from several restaurants, across the street from a small police station, and near the hospital area. If you are tired of generic hotels, I highly recommend the Treehouse for a unique and peaceful stay.

Had two days of medical visits at UAB and thought this B&B looked adorable and relaxing. I was right! My room was the Zen Den. It was spotless, comfortable and relaxing. The desk had pens and outlets, each room had a space heater as a supplement on a chilly night. There was a snuggly onesy and a lovely bathrobe for guest use. The bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows types. I didn't go around to the main house so can't comment on it, or on the breakfast choices. I hope to visit again!

We have traveled to Birmingham a few times a year since 2019, typically stay in hotels in proximity to UAB but have also enjoyed AirBnB's in Avondale and elsewhere.Tree House was a great experience and will be at the top of our list for the next trip. Great location, wonderful hospitality and the accommodations were clean and comfortable.Walkability: Easy walk to restaurants and other spots in and around Five Points.

Summed up in one word: quirky. But absolutely delightful. A unique space that celebrates creativity and creating a feeling of introspection and curiosity.Does it need a few things tightened up? Yep. Did it impact the experience? No.So book a room if you appreciate having two Giraffe onesies in your closet instead of robes, a gorgeous shared space with huge windows for lounging or reading, and just enough quirks to make you wonder what is the next thing that will put a smile on your face.

The Birmingham tree house was truly a breath of fresh air! We had 14 of us that were all able to stay together when we came to town to celebrate my husband's surprise birthday party. We all loved the warm messages throughout the home and the creativity in the decorations of all the rooms. We would definitely spread the word for friends and family to stay there when coming through Alabama.Monica Adams Quentin

Staying in this charming historic home is a must, especially if you have a larger group! I was in town for a family event for which I rented almost the whole house. Each room is unique, but equally comfortable. Renny made sure we had everything we needed and was readily available, but otherwise left us to enjoy our time together. There are multiple areas where we could gather in larger or smaller groups, and the sunroom is a lovely spot in the morning for a cup of coffee. The central location in Southside made for an easy walk to Five Points or a short drive to everywhere we wanted to go. Everyone in my group of 11 commented on what a great job we did in choosing a place to stay. If you are looking for a place to share with a few friends or family, stop looking and make a reservation!

Truly a beautiful house & lovely stay! A very relaxing place! The owners are so welcoming & I had everything I needed! Extremely clean, cozy & conveniently located. My room was super cute with a personalized message on my bed! The sleeping porch was perfect to watch summer storms. Serene rooms downstairs for peaceful yoga sessions. I definitely recommend!

This place was so AWESOME! It has such a great vibe and a lot of though went into all the details of a place. I have found new inspiration myself and want to open a place like this myself. Yoga class was great done by the host of the house. You HAVE to experience this for yourself if you are questioning booking don't and just book you will not regret it.
