Old school Citgo gas station that is a bit higher in gas than other gas stations that are in the area. There is also a Mexican food truck on the property if you are looking for a quick meal.

I was at Fiesta in Linn Park on yesterday. There were many food vendors, but this one caught my eye. I think it was the pictures of their food on the side of their truck. I saw Birria Tacos and immediately stopped. I have been wanting to try Birria Tacos so why not give them a try? Now, the prices were kind of steep. I paid $14 for my Birria Tacos and $14 for my younger son to get California Fries, which were fries topped with nacho toppings. However, the food was muy bueno! My husband and older son had eaten elsewhere. When they saw our food, they decided to get in line and order some, too. My husband met the owner and he was very friendly! We'd order from this food truck again.

The tacos are great. The interior needs an upgrade. Kinda dengie but your going for the food so yeah. The tortillas taste like they are homemade. The meat is so tender. Its simple tacos but with big flavor.

We stopped in after a hike at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve. This place is easy to zip right by, or if you notice it (or its more conspicuous neighbors, the pawn shop and Dollar General), you might think to pass. You'd be mistaken. It is definitely a hole in the wall, no frills in terms of atmosphere, and cheap ($2 tacos!). The food, though, is outstanding. This is a place to get authentic Mexican. We ordered the huarache with chicken, the steak torta, and a "super taco". The huarache came with diced seasoned chicken, lettuce, cheese, slices of perfectly ripe avocado, beans, bits of tomato and cilantro. This all sat atop a freshly made corn tortilla. When the woman who took our orders disappeared for several minutes in the back kitchen, it turned out this was what she got busy doing--making these corn tortillas from scratch--before she set to work on the other stuff. Incredible, and worth the wait. The green salsa on top worked well. The steak torta came topped with much of the same, and a similar tortilla, except thicker. Picture the huarache like a Mexican flatbread, whereas the torta is more like a deep-dish style crust. Both were amazing, but the real winner was the super taco, the priciest taco on the menu at $2.50. It had a few different types of meat in it (though the pastor - pork - was the winning meat by a long shot). This taco also had guacamole, crema, cilantro and tomatoes on it. It was gorgeous, and that fresh warm corn tortilla again just made it. This is a place where it won't necessarily be fast, but the food is definitely made with love. Note: this place takes cash only.

The decor, menus and signs are nothing fancy, but they don't need to be. Order at the counter. I thought the tortillas they used could be a little better, but the super tacos were very good. They brought a hot sauce in a squeeze container. When I was done, I saw that someone else also had a green hot sauce on their table, so maybe ask for different sauces when you get your tacos.
