I am from out of state, and the owner treated me like a local asking me questions about life like I was a regular. He was very kind and I would 100% go back if I am ever in town.

If you expect actual customer service, just don’t be a black woman. When I walked in the person behind the counter said nothing to acknowledge me after I walked in and said hello, He continued his phone conversation and said nothing. I noticed as I was walking around the store that every white person that came in the store was acknowledged and he at least spoke words to every man that came to the counter. When I walked up to pay for my items, he said nothing and continued his phone conversation so I stared at him. He asked if something was wrong with me for just looking at him and said “oh I thought something was wrong because you’re not paying.” I said “sir I was waiting to see if you were going to tell me my total because you haven’t said anything to me since I came in the store and even now you’re still on the phone and haven’t said anything to me.” The guy says “I don’t have to say anything to you, why do I have to speak to you?” As long as I’m doing my job I don’t have to say hello or tell you your total.” I said “sir it’s rude not to acknowledge customers and I saw you speak to every man that came to the counter and he greeted all of the white people. I told him I don’t have to spend my money anywhere that I don’t receive respect as a customer. My money will spend anywhere I go. Just stay away from this place if you can avoid it all together. Also, they’re charging wayyyy more than any other package store in the city. High prices and terrible customer service.

Good selection and the owner listens to customers as to what to stock. Yes the prices are a little high even for Alabama(Although it’s true people from outside the state don’t understand the ABC board and why prices at these stores are justifiably higher). And yes it’s a small business so you will be dealing directly with the owner most days. We’ve always gotten along and nothing shady has ever happened. That’s not to discount some others experiences.

I want to share this. It is a disgrace to customer service. The prices there are incredibly high as well. I would not recommend this place. The cashier with the grey beard is very nasty. He tried to steal my money. You would think an older guy would be a gentleman but not this guy. To make matters worse. He told me to get out of his store. My advice is to find another store to spend your money.

I agree with all of the other 1-star reviews. The old man that works there most of the time is nice on the surface when you are purchasing, but turns incredibly mean and verbally abusive very quickly. They are very overpriced, of course. They often leave trash outside on the sidewalk. One of their customers hit another vehicle that was in the clinic next-door for emergency medical assistance, and just drove off. They lied and said they did not have cameras. There are about 20 cameras inside. These are bad people profiting from mostly unsuspecting and unaware customers.

Love this place. Miss their old spot on Highland, but since I work downtown it's easy to just stop by on the way home. There's plenty of parking on the street. It's just as friendly and well stocked as when it was on highland.

Google led me here as the closest liqour store to my hotel. Limited selection but had what I wanted. Got to the register. WAY OVER PRICED. I travel alot and have never seen prices this high. I was shocked. $20 higher on the average for a fifth of Jameson! I spoke up, decided to get a smaller bottle. Guy reached around and placed a bottle on the counter. Dang! That bottle was even over priced. That price has been the higher end of a fifth that I have seen while traveling. Then the club soda, $3.99 for a liter. He rang me up. I questioned when the total was still too high. I asked him did he charge me for 2 of something. He said "no". I got the receipt. Checked it, showed him. I wanted refund. He asked me if I wanted a coke. I said no. He couldn't figure out how to refund my money. I told him nevermind and just give me what he charged me double for. Won't go back.

First time at this new location. Still as helpful as always. I'm not a big drinker, and always have more questions. Always getting the answers from the helpful guys at this store.
