Had a great experience with the doctor and nursing staff but someone dropped the ball and didn’t send our wellness paperwork to our insurance company, resulting in an increase to my monthly insurance premiums. I called multiple times and left a voicemail with an office manager but no one ever called me back. I just wanted to share my experience to hopefully prevent this from happening to someone else. Being ignored left an equally bad impression and reinforced my initial impression that they were uninterested in my experience.

Would NOT recommend!!
I had a bloodwork panel completed. Not being in the medical field, I called to ask questions regarding what all the data means. I was told they don’t explain the results, but I can schedule an apt. I thought that was a money grab, yet it was tolerable.
I was written medication for three months, that one month of which was stolen from a car theft. I called with the police repeat to ask if they would simply authorize CVS to refill. They decline stating I’d need to set another appointment.
I was told things were covered from my insurance and then still billed $250 later.
I have never been seen on the scheduled time without long wait. I have never seen the actual doctor listed, it’s always a nurse that works under him.
This location isn’t about helping. They are about turning your needs into dollars!! Be warned.

The Caucasian lady at the desk this morning was so rude, blurted out so loud that I had a balance that was in collection and that she couldn't see me until I payed the balance , everyone in the building heard it. Totally violated and embarrassed me. Also this place violated my hipaa on July 8th and it caused me to have to resign from my job. My employer called in asking did I come to the doctor on a certain day and they should have said we are not allowed to give that information, but instead told the employer the last date i came. When I called them, to ask about this, they told me that someone from records had to do it, because they don't give out info at the front desk. I will never come back to this place again. Rude and unprofessional.

Doctors are fine here, but reception is awful! They "check you in," but actually never do and you sit and wait and wait, go back to the window, eventually get checked in. Then they want to tell you it's because they're crazy busy. The waiting room for appointments was nearly empty. The receptionist was just too busy on her personal phone, and expected her coworker to do her job. I say that because they had a loud outburst about it at the desk. I've never felt like less than a priority! Should have just went in through urgent care since those patients were being seen to ahead of appointments or just went somewhere else all together.

The entire staff was exceptional. I was greeted immediately, the check in process was simple and fast and I was seen in a very expeditious manner. The NP Courtney was super helpful and efficient. I recommend this MedHelp to anyone with an urgent care need.

I hate leaving bad reviews but every (every) single time I go here its 3-4 hours before I ever am seen ?WHO has time for that I’m not sure who’s fault it is (everyone was v nice) but they need to get that fixed

6/21/24 Went here Friday evening and was the ONLY patient there. As I waited, another patient came in with a different concern and was seen by a nurse for his issue. He was in with her for at least 30 minutes but finished up and left. I was still there waiting as the ONLY person in the waiting room.I was there for a tb skin test and was told there were 2 injectors there. I waited and waited and waited until I finally said what is taking so long there are no other patients here. The kind receptionist went back to check but by this time I was pissed! Finally, 2 nurses came meandering out to call me back. I said rudely, about time I’m the ONLY one here. I had waited 45 mins. Had I not said anything, it would’ve been even longer. I was so upset that I simply requested a refund and went somewhere else. Will NEVER go here again!!

Thorough, compassionate, excellent care by Katherine Taylor CRNP. What a knowledgeable, warm and patient centered provider. She gave a detailed layman’s explanation of tests, written instructions, asked questions and asked what was important to the patient.
One of the best clinicians we’ve encountered. Highly recommend care from her.

I recently visited Medhelp 280 and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. Dr. Vaughn and his entire medical staff provided top-notch care, making me feel comfortable and well-informed throughout my visit. Completely disrespectful of other people’s time. Why schedule an appointment at 9am if you’re not going to get me out of the waiting room at or around that time? I waited for over an hour before leaving after seeing 10 people who came in after me get called back and some leave. Absolutely ridiculous! I will not return to see Dr. Willoughby and I don’t recommend them at all.

I came in with an asthma related issue. I am from out of town. The Dr. on duty provided fantastic care and I was in and out quickly so I could enjoy the rest of my vacation. I recommend this medical group.

This place is terrible. I went in about a year ago, was forced to take a diabetes test that I told them I didn’t want to do. They said it was standard protocol. (I was there to get a doctors note for my handicap tag for having a paralyzed leg) then they send me a bill telling me I owe for the test. That I said I didn’t want to do. I refused to pay it and they said they would waive the fee. Well fast forward to today. I go into the lakeshore location cause I’m sick with the flu or something. And I’m told that the “owner” put a note on my account saying not to see me or offer me services. WHAT PART OF THAT SOUNDS RIGHT. you try to force people into paying for stuff that’s not needed and then refuse to see them if they speak up about it. Do better. I really hope someone actually in charge sees this. The receptionist at the lakeshore location was very nice though. So there’s that.

Staff has been very professional since I started using this clinic In 2021after the on I used to use refused to see me for an ear infection that caused me to lose my hearing temporarily , only had a few minor problems where I would walk into their walk in clinic and get turned away but front desk staff was great at explaining why the physician was unable to see me , the Drs and nurse practitioners I’ve seen have all been great definitely one of the better urgent cares in Birmingham they helped me understand Covid 19 and how the different Covid test worked after I had kept testing positive on an at home test for several weeks , thank you
