Simple matter to close an account? "I can't" was the only response I received, including "I can't speak to the supervisor's supervisor." I can't receive it via wire transfer, must walk into a branch to close the account. I can't close it over the phone. I must mail a notarized instruction. No problem, if they had said so when I called on May 9. Instead I was told I would receive my account funds by mail on May 15 at 11:19am no less. Come May 16 no check so I called. Though I retained the tracking number Regions had no record of my request. No call or e-mail after waiting one week for my funds. I can't close the account via phone as it was over $1,000. I need to wait an additional 2 weeks for my own money. I can't receive it via overnight mail. Unacceptable.

If you are opening a new bank account I would STRONGLY advise you to choose a different bank than Regions. I have banked with them for over 25 years and have numerous problems with their on-line banking. The most recent event has been that they updated their online system and all previous electronic transfers, payments have been impacted. They were transferring money to my sons account even though it had been stopped several months ago! Regions explanation was that this is a known error and they were sorry. Really? If I was to be overdrawn, could I just say I was sorry? Go with a smaller bank. Go with a local bank. DON'T go with Regions!

The people at this location are incredible nice, and I would recommend anyone to go here, even if they don't bank with Regions. The location is clean, the tellers are nice, and I'm very comfortable calling this my bank.
