Delicious indian food, especially the chicken briyani (herbed rice and chicken), which had lots of wonderful indian spices. Really hit the spot. Service was okay, if not lacking a little bit of pep. Lots of indian decorations.

Silver Coin's saffron-colored walls create a glow, while Bollywood flicks on the TV provide a diversion. The menu will satisfy almost any Indian food cravings with dishes from different regions. Lunchtime diners find a buffet that includes salad and fresh fruit, a variety of main courses, rice, tandoori (clay oven-cooked) chicken and dessert. Servers come by often with hot, freshly baked naan, good for dipping in the addictive mint sauce. Extensive dinnertime offerings cover the gamut of southern and northern Indian fare, tandoori specialties and Indo-Chinese selections. Pakoras make a good starter with three versions: spinach and onion, hot pepper or cheese. Masala-grilled fish is marinated in spices and served on a bed of sautéed spinach with onion and garlic. Try the lamb rara pepper fry with cubes of lamb in a spicy sauce with bell pepper, onion, ginger and cilantro. Tandoori dishes are good, and the platter with mint chicken tikki, tandoori chicken, chicken rashmi kebab, chicken seekh kebab and lamb chop is ample to share. Aloo saag with diced potatoes cooked with spinach and herbs makes a hearty vegetarian entrée. Desserts include carrot or rice pudding and Indian sponge cake soaked with rose-flavored sugar syrup. There's a small wine list with some appropriate choices for the food, or play it safe and order a beer.
