I stayed at Kelly during my business visit to Birmingham. Though my stay was booked till 26th Jan but due to safety reason, I checked out on 22nd. Items worth more than $300 were stolen from my room and the hotel didn't even have courtesy to refund the amount. I bought those items as souviners for my family and friends. Such a big brand and not even single cctv camera in the lobby. They were not even able to track the thief. It was one of their housekeeping person. Moreover their treatment towards me was not fair. Was not expecting such thing from a brand like hilton. Book at your own risk coz they dont take responsibility if anything happens to your belongings.Safety: No safety measures in place.

The rooms are great! The new menus at the restaurant is very limited. They won’t even add protein to the salads. The old menu was better. But the food is good.

Unfortunately, management leaves a lot to be desired here. They tend to avoid speaking directly to you but instead continue to relay information through their associates so there is a lot of back and forth and unwillingness to simply help. In this particular instance, we were told that our reservation had been canceled, but on the day of, we received a text about our check in. When we called to remind them and show proof that it had been canceled they stated that it wasn't showing in their system and therefore we would be charged. We rebooked for a few weeks out and have the confirmation number but they maintain that since it's not showing in their system the confirmation email and number mean nothing. Rod Clark is the manager and while we were not afforded the opportunity to speak to him directly, the onsite manger on duty at the time wouldn't get on the phone either but instead left the front desk to convey what they were saying and you could actually hear her speaking, she just refused to take the call. So they have charged us for 2 rooms, for 4 nights and since they know we are in florida not coming, I am sure they have re-rented the rooms. Fraudulent for sure. They are simply terrible and there are too many competitors within walking distance to ever stay there again. Shame on Hilton for allowing their name to be on the building.

You ever start a review and don’t finish it but when you come back to the review it’s changed ??♀️Over the past 7 months I’ve stayed at the Kelly a lot so I struggled with my rating as consistently the staff is phenomenal - this includes the door, to the front desk to the bar. With that being said, the Kelly is in an old/historic building which I love ? but the interior has been remodeled so you get the charm mixed in with modern decor. Where they lacked big time this go round was on cleanliness. I’m a little OCD on germs so yes I check my hotel room and clean everything. Well I’m not cleaning up chicken wings from under the bed, which is what I experienced on my last visit. Talk about being grossed out. Now the front desk took pictures and quickly moved me, which I appreciated. He was very apologetic and stated he would inform management, who would reach out. Now before I get into my non existent reach out, let’s discuss room #2 which had hair and dirt on the sheets. At this point I just asked for new sheets and changed them myself as it was late and I couldn’t stomach what could potentially be in room #3.I debated on this review and said I would wait to see if management reached out but they did not and when I checked out and mentioned issues with my room, I was told sorry to hear. The 3 stars is for the staff being 5 stars otherwise this would be a 1 star review

Really disappointed with my 2 night stay at the Kelly Birmingham. We arrived in town around 130pm for a weekend wedding. We knew check in was not until 4 but we had no where else to go so we went to the hotel. Thankfully they could check our bags for us while we went to lunch. We didn't have rooms ready until 530 in the evening. Frustrating as they knew we were there but could prioritize rooms to clean and ready with us already being there. After finally getting our room we discovered dirty panties from a previous guest in the night table drawer. Wet towels from the previous guest were hanging on the back of the bathroom door. My brother also had wet towels hanging in his bathroom in his room. We had 4 rooms booked for our traveling party, not one of them had hand soap in the bathroom. In every one of the 4 rooms the shampoo, conditioner, and body was dispensers were totally empty. The pull out couch had no bedding, no sheets no blanket no pillows available in the room. When requesting to have any of these issues fixed we were met with rudeness from the front desk staff, letting us know they were understaffed on a busy weekend. I'd never stay here again, guests beware, serious hygiene issues at this hotel.

Absolutely awful hotel. The rooms smelled extremely soggy, mostly and the hallways smelled strongly of weed. Later on my shower ended up exploding and spraying water all over the bathroom!!When I asked for help at the front desk they were extremely rude and said they would not be able to fix it during my stay, but couldn't move me to another room. So I just couldn't shower my whole trip, in a hot humid environment. Absolutely insane.Furthermore, the valet seemed extremely inept. I saw them pushing planters into the bike lane for some reason? What? Why? They came extremely close to hitting my truck on the planters after moving themI will say, the bed was comfortable, and the bar was good, and no bedbugs. Not much of a compliment, more the standard but you know.

Pros:• We booked a suite and I found it to be very spacious.• From valet to front desk, everyone was very pleasant.Cons:• There is no housekeeping service available, despite our request for it.The inconvenience of asking the front desk if someone can clean your room, being told okay, but still not having anyone come is very frustrating. Upon being asked why nobody came to clean, the only response was to apologize that it never happened.I would recommend that your guests be informed that housekeeping will not be performed at all as a courtesy, so that they know what to expect. Calling down to the front desk for toilet paper seems a bit excessive to me. The question should not have to be asked.•The NoiseIf you are a light sleeper, city view may not be for you. There is nothing you cannot hear! Every car, every conversation. Let’s not get into the ridiculous people deciding to Street race at 3 a.m. Disrupting our sleep! It literally feels as if the windows were up, but they are actually closed.Although the location was excellent & the hotel was very decent, we will not book with this hotel again if we return to the area.

I used to work in the hotel industry so my standards are high. From the moment I stepped out of my car to valet park, to the time I left, the staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming if they tried. They made sure everything was taken care of, with lots of smiles along the way! I experienced the best customer service from the valets, front office, housekeeping, and food service. The bartenders even got me big bags of ice for my sprained ankle! And every employee I passed, whether riding in the elevator or through the lobby greeted me with a cheerful hello and asked how my day was. Thank you for an excellent experience. I will highly and gladly recommend this hotel to all of my acquaintances who travel to Birmingham!Rooms: What I love most about the rooms is how spacious they are. Almost equally, I loved the ceiling heights and tall windows. To have three huge windows in a hotel room is a luxury! The bed was comfy, the room was clean, and the tv was a nice size! I also loved the sleek, upscale design of the bathroom. The keyless entry was another perk so I didn't have to keep track of a key card. I loved all the little details from the welcoming screen on the tv with my name when I arrived, to the peephole cover on the door!Safety: I felt very safe walking downtown near the hotel during the day.Walkability: Very easy!Food & drinks: I didn't have a long wait either time I ordered dinner, and the food was delicious. Try the Grilled NY Strip Bites Salad, cooked perfectly to order - you won't be disappointed!

0/10 for cleanliness. A ring around the toilet showing they don’t clean it, hairs on the desk and the bathroom sink. I left.
