Why is the post office closed at lunch like it's a small business with one employee?

A couple of weeks on a Saturday I had packages and didn’t have my keys the young lady was amazing she gave me everything I had ordered and took the slip out the box

Went to mail a package at 2:00 p.m. and the place was locked up. There was no note on the door saying, “be back soon”, or anything. It was just closed. This is not the first time this has happened.
