I was visiting from out of town and found myself in need of some groceries. I could not find the store's parking lot, but I am sure that there was one. I did find metered street parking, that was free after 5PM and it was nit too far of a walk. The store is organized and it may be just me, but the prices seemed a bit high than I am use to at other Publix stores. The store was also clean and they have a security guard posted on site. The staff was not memorable during my visit. They were not rude or mean and they were not super friendly and welcoming. They just did their job. This grocery store has a monopoly on people needing groceries downtown. Outside of here, there are not many options. I think a 3.5 star rating is more appropriate, but that is not an option and it is closer to a 4 than a 3 in my opinion, so that is what I went with.

Clean store, friendly service and convenient. I wish they can stock more items but overall love the store!

My wife and I live downtown, Birmingham, AL. This Publix is just a few blocks from our home. As an Elite Member, I rarely review businesses except for Restaurants. I am making an exception here. As we all know, super markets have had many shortages due to supply chain issues. Publix is no different. What they have been doing is listening to their clients. I made mention of some issues in the deli, they are no more. I asked the butcher to cut meats for me special, he did with no questions. From time to time, we have had items that were not fresh, they refunded us promptly. What else can you ask for from a Super Market. Thrilled we have this Publix and bravo to the team.

Publix rocks. What can I say? If you've been to Publix, you know. If you haven't, go! There aren't a whole lot of variety of super markets in the south for some reason so thankfully Publix is a good choice and this one is no exception. Store is well organized and clean. Staff are just honestly the best. So helpful and friendly. The customer service is fantastic. They bag your groceries for you -- a novelty up north. They will take your buggy to the car and load your groceries in it. No tipping allowed. If you've had their cakes, you know how amazing they are even if they are a bit pricey. Deli is great with Publix brand and Boars Head which is my favorite.

ROMAINE CALM! Friendly staff, shelves are always stocked well. There is everything under the sun in this grocery store they sell cake by the slice which is delicious as week as Einstein bagels in their bakery. Been coming here a lot as it is the closest grocery store to our apt. It is walking distance from my job and on the way from my job to home since I've been walking almost every day home from work. The staff is always nice enough to lend a helping hand. When we were here last week preparing ourselves in case Ida were to hit us, I noticed a lady with 2 kids and she was getting annoyed that her cart wasn't moving after exiting. She was unaware that the carts lock into place so people cannot steal them. A worker approached her and offered to help her with the groceries as she was handling her children. (Absolutely amazing). The produce section is very well kept. Very clean and tons of options too! This is my publix so yes I will be back for sure!

I love Publix. I'm still getting use to this particular Publix it's a tad bit smaller even the carts are smaller. But i usually can find whatever I need. Yesterday was an exception but I won't count that against them since it's the holiday season. I was informed the truck would be in on Monday so I could find the other things I was looking for then. The only reason I took off one star is because the male pharmacist is rude and one of the female techs can be rude at times. I'm not use to this coming from the Vestavia pharmacy where Jennie was always kind. I said something about it and was told because they service a different type of customer than Vestavia so that's why they are a little bit ruder but I still feel like that isn't a good excuse. The pharmacy is the only reason I took off one star. And if you are going to get a pub sub make sure to get Ariel she is so friendly and a great listener and makes the best subs.

Quick and easy, i was in town for short business trip, but forgot a few items. decent size store with good range of items. simple and easy to get too, and parking was decent for curb parking. Will visit again during next visit for fresh food, they just need self checkouts!

I needed to grab a few items before heading home from work . It was extremely crowded but I was able to get what I needed fairly easily and quickly. I even picked up a few items that weren't on my list. Publix is known for their BOGO items but I do find that sometimes that's not always the better deal ; depending on the item , Publix can be a tad bit more expensive. This location has street parking as well as a covered parking deck. From the covered deck there is elevator access into the grocery store. My cashier, Jake was very friendly and polite! I really like this location because of the convenience factor. Birmingham really needed a quality , chain grocery store centrally located. This is a great addition to the downtown area!

Publix always seem to amaze me. They keep everything stocked and easy to find as well. Every time I come into this place, the employees are always generous and nice. My favorite part of the store is the seafood section. They are always on top of keeping the freshest food ever. You ever want to cook a seafood boil, come to Publix!!

Two days in a row tried to get a sub...ridiculous waits both times (gave up yesterday) and only one choice of bread available at 4pm. Would NOT recommend!

I visited this locations deli today. The ultimate sub was on special for 5.99. However they carry boars head deli meat. So I decided to pay the higher price and go for the boars head brand. I found it strange that the deli meat was already sliced and in a cooler below. It had no labeling or anything to identify what brand the meats were. Once I got home and started to eat I very highly doubt if the meats on my sandwich was the boars head that I paid for. I lived in New York for 11 years and ate boars head brand freshly cut from the corner bodega. Very disappointed and will not trust this deli again

I was in this store this particular day simply to grab money off my debit card for a Toga Party so I could Tip the wait staff at the event. It was between 5-6 and the checkout lines were all long. The previous visits in the store were impressive with everything stocked, fresh and a very nice staff. On this day I just wanted to buy mints and hurry back to my function. The young man behind me had someone he wanted to get to in a hurry as well. Management failed to plan for traffic patterns and I was particularly upset due to the crime factors in the city. The news have people killed for the most trivial and asinine reasons, so I was in fear of my life why waiting line. While I could surf FB to past time, the young guy behind me was on his phone yapping about shooting up the place using awful foul language. I turned to say something to him and saw he had a bullet wound healing in his neck. I promptly turned back forward and keep my mouth closed. I tried to get the attention of the BPD Officer working security but she was busy talking on her phone too. The vision of me being harmed in a Toga while standing in line to buy gum is funny now but I assure you I was extremely scared then. My safety concerns were all due because those in control didn't plan properly to have the express lanes opened on a Friday in peak hours and I had the misfortune to have a young impatient tough guy with tattoos covering his chest and arms that had recently been shot in his neck, buying sushi for his pregnant side piece, loudly cursing to one of his buddies on his new burner phone. (Nope, I wasn't about to say a word about her eating uncooked discounted grocery store fish or anything else about his phone conversation)! My low review is for Publix not seeing I spent 34 minutes in line for one item and opening an express lane, poor staff planing, relax rules for their security Officer, the anxiety I experienced because the dude behind me was obviously irate and should have been noticed by loss prevention, management on security cameras, the cop being paid to protect me and all the other nervous customers within ear range of the dude cursing on the burner phone. Why do I keep bringing up the cell was a burner? He had left his ankle monitor and real cell on his front porch on his dog!!! This guy may have been making his phone conversation up but I believed him. Publix disappointed me that day. 34 minutes in line for one item!

Absolutely love this store. The store is always clean, well kept, and the staff is always SUPER friendly. The prices and variety of food is fun and very reasonably priced. Centrally located in the heart of Homewood and very close to I-65.The outdoor parking lot is well lit, grounds well kept, and no trash to be seen. What else can be said, good job!

What your typical grocery store experience should be like. The staff was friendly and helpful. The store layout was convenient and the displays were appealing to the eye. While not the most economical choice, I would recommend Publix as a convenient option to pick up supplies downtown. I would have given 3 stars but the nice cashiers upped it to a 4.
