“I’ve been searching for a trusted place in Birmingham to take my vehicles and finally found Riverchase Automotive. Donny and his team got me in quick and took care of a sizable coolant leak on my 4Runner. They took care of several other issues and made me feel like family.
Look no further. Trust the guys at Riverchase Auto”
“Nick is excellent and honest. I have brought my Corolla and Yukon to his shop for repairs and each time he has fixed the issue and got me back on the road. Mr. Transmission in Hoover is a trustworthy shop that has been serving the community for years.”
“Took Honda in for service. Mike and the team at Car Care are the best. They will do what needs to be done, make sure everything else checks out okay, and charge a reasonable price for their excellent service. Love these guys…”
“These guys are heroes! I'am new to Birmingham and got a flat downtown, which was pretty stressful. I pulled in here, and the team was immediately amazing.
Alex and Danny were super friendly, got me right in, and were clearly very knowledgeable. While they patched my tire, they even took the time to explain in detail how the patch works. I've never had a shop do that! Even with that great explanation, I was still out the door in less than 15 minutes.
The best part? When I went to pay, they said it was on the house as a goodwill gesture. I was blown away. What a perfect example of true Southern Hospitality! Honest, kind, and fast.
I'm never going to a big chain center again. This is my new go-to spot, and I'll be sending all my friends and family here for anything car-related. Highly recommend!”
“These guys will simply not take my money. I don't know what's wrong with them. Two cars I tried to bring in, they looked them over, test drove, said it wasn't necessary to service the transmission (even ruled transmission out for a problem I thought HAD to be related). Very strange people but I guess if you're the type of person that doesn't like to spend money if you don't have to, this is the shop for you! Ten stars.”
“I found this place by doing a quick google search while in the area. I was in dire need because my vehicle wasn't braking correctly.
They were pretty busy that day, but they managed to squeeze me in and get me fixed up within a couple of hours.
Honest and fair pricing. I will definitely ne back again.”
“While traveling home from Missouri to Florida, the engine light came on in Birmingham Ala. After a stop at an auto parts store, it was coding for an issue with the transmission. I got off highway and stopped at a hotel for the night. I started looking for shops that were somewhat close to where I was staying. The next day, after not getting an answer at the first one I called, I called Valley Drive Auto and Brian answered the phone. He told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it. After he took it for a test drive and monitoring the truck, he determined the best course of action would be to replace the transmission and I agreed. He made a couple calls and found one that was available and it would be delivered the same day or first thing the next day. It showed up around 1300 the same day and he called me to bring truck back. I brought the truck back to the shop and Brian was nice enough to give me a ride back to my hotel ( ~5 miles or so). The next day he called me at ~1130 telling me the work was done. He then came and picked me up at the hotel to bring me back to his shop. I had an absolutely positive experience with this shop and I highly recommend them. Thank you Brian and crew for working me in!”

“We traveled from Maryland for the Thanksgiving holiday and needed some work done on our Volvos prior to driving back home. The owner Alex, waited for us to arrive although it was near to their closing time. Once we arrived he was efficient and knowledgeable about our cars. Repaired the Volvos and made sure sufficient air was in our tires in record breaking time. We drove back to Maryland without any issues. Great place with exceptional service! If we lived near Birmingham Alex at GTech would be our only mechanic!! Two thumbs UP!!”

“M&B transmissions are the most honest mechanics we have encountered in years. My 2019 Toyota Avalon had been serviced by 2 local
Toyota dealers who have probably robbed us for years. We always ended up paying more than recommended service when we took our car in. After being told that our car needed a new transmission ($10000) or we could trade it in on a new vehicle, we had had enough. I told them my car had NEVER had any transmission slipping or missing until they did a flush that was recommended. M&B diagnosed my car and reset the computer codes and said they found nothing else wrong with the car. We have been driving the car for a week now with no trouble. And they charged NOTHING. That is honesty and we will be going to them for all your repairs from now on.”

“That's our 1993 Lexus LS 400 below--107K miles, and a wonderful car again, thanks to Marty's Transmission. "Thanks, Marty..." I said in a recent phone call to his shop "...it's 1993 again, and I'm driving a new Lexus. Smooth, excellent shifting, just like when it left the dealership 31 years ago. Well done!"
When I asked what had caused the transmission to fail, he held up a small disk with a crack in it. "This is what caused the problem. This particular year had an issue with this part. In the 1994 model, they strengthened this so it wouldn't happen."
It took a while, but Marty was able to carefully, thoughtfully, find all of the right parts from across the nation to properly rebuild this transmission. It hasn't been available from Lexus for years.
Amazing knowledge, engineering skills, and outstanding outcomes. The very reasonable cost was a great surprise too. Pleased to recommend Marty's Transmission to anyone looking for honest, highly knowledgeable and skilled work at a more-than-fair price!”
“I was referred to GP&G by Jerry's Transmission in Hueytown as one of the best mechanic shops in the area. When I arrived the owner said it would be two weeks before they could look at it. It did take two weeks but then my car was fixed in a day and they did an oil change. They fixed the sensors, steering column, and crank shaft. The staff is friendly and honest and the prices were more than reasonable. My car is driving as if it were new. They even delivered my car to my home a few miles away when I couldn't make it there on time from work. I would highly recommend them as they were worth the wait.”
“Amazing! Honest! Professional! Skilled! Knowledgeable! And most of all, GOOD PEOPLE! As a single woman who knows nothing about cars or mechanics, Christian Brothers Auto has earned my trust and my loyalty for life!! You know the old school shop that your grandparents and parents trusted and would send everything to, every time? This is the same one but it exists in our era! A beautiful and rare thing to find, and I won't be using anyone else!! Christian Brothers Auto, Thank you for what y'all do and for doing it with integrity‼️”

“Mr. James repaired my elderly vehicle plus he discovered a way to reduce the original repair estimate about 50 percent. That enabled me to buy the new tires my car needed.”
“I have only used Jim & Jim's Body Shop once at the recommendation of a former co-worker. I went there after calling because my driver side mirror was broken off. Instead of paying lots of money to have it replaced, they simply glued it back on. This didn't last very long unfortunately, but longer than having duct tape on my car. I eventually had to have the whole mirror replaced, but overall I was pleased with the work they did.
I didn't find the business rude by any means. They were a courteous staff, and got to work on my car as quickly as they could. I'm soon to have future body work needed on my car due to a car accident, and I'm considering using Jim & Jim's again because they are close to home, and I had a pleasurable experience during my last visit.”
“Mr Johnston expressed a willingness to resolve the repair of the transmission. We agree on a repair date and a repair price over the phone. My previous review about timeliness is no longer an issue. We both want to practice business in a fair way to both parties.Service: Transmission”
“Had a reductant tank (DEF) fault in the middle of a 800 mile trip and called J&S. They got me in immediately and back on the road in less than 15 minutes! Great service!”

“I have been trying to get my 2009 Blue Bird All American bus factory air conditioners to work since I purchased the bus several years ago to build a Skoolie. I was getting very frustrated after paying two other repair shops to diagnose and fix the problem. However, after paying for the work, the air conditioner would always stop cooling after running for twenty-thirty minutes.
Last week I was driving the bus from Ashville to Greenville, NC when the afternoon temperatures hit 95-97 degrees. It was too hot to continue driving and I pulled over and turned on our Pioneer mini-split to stay cool while I researched who might have the proper knowledge and experience to finally get the bus air conditioner working.
Inside the covers of the evaporator units, I found the name (MCC) Mobile Climate Control, Inc. I was then able to locate authorized dealers and service centers across the U.S. It took me more that five hours of making calls to repair shops in the South East before I discovered W.W. Williams in Birmingham, AL. James Latham, W.W. Williams - Customer Experience Supervisor, took the time to listen to the issues I was having and was able to schedule me immediately. I went out of my way driving from Atlanta to Birmingham, but I had confidence they could fix my air conditioning system.
As soon as I arrived at the repair shop, the diagnosis work was started. A few weeks earlier, I replaced all four roof-top condenser fans and washed the condensers. Still, one of the new condenser fans would not power up. Pete, the air conditioner tech. discovered the fan control switch on the rear roof-top unit was malfunctioning. After determining the switch was not needed and not worth the time and money to replace it, I agreed to have him rewire the fan directly, protected with fuses to turn on/off when the system was activated. This fixed the fan and ensured proper air flow through the roof-top condensers, but still did not keep the system from shutting down after running down the road for twenty minutes.
Initially, it appeared that the non-working condenser fan was causing the high pressure switch to activate and shut down the compressor. This, I'm sure was part of the problem, but there was still something else going on.
Because the high and low pressure readings were as expected, the real issue was not obvious. Pete pointed out that the bus air conditioning system requires 14 pounds of refrigerant per the information for the system located in the rear engine compartment. The only way to verify the weight of the refrigerant was to pull it all out and test for leaks in the system. It was determined to only have 6.5 LB which was 7.5 LB short. This shortage was apparently causing the low pressure switch to activate and stop the compressor. After filling to 14 pounds, the air conditioner continues to blow cold air and problem solved.
I am quite certain the other repair shops (unrelated to W.W. Williams) did not actually weigh the refrigerant, but relied only on high and low pressure readings.
In my experience with school bus and motor home repair shops around the country, it is rare to find one that will follow through with customer service.
I am fortunate I found W.W. Williams of Birmingham. For the first time, I finally got the result I was looking for. No, I did not need a whole new air conditioning system. I just needed a repair shop I could trust to get the job done in a friendly and efficient manner.

“Mike and his technicians did a superb job on rebuilding my transmission on my '95 Corvette. It has been almost 2 years now, and it gives me no trouble; actually drives like a new car again. I recommend his shop to anyone I know who is looking for a transmission shop. And, another thing, they are fast and your vehicle MIGHT spend 2 days maximum at his shop...Great turnaround time !!!”
“I love this place; I was having problems with my buick and couldn't find out what was wrong. Two other shops just took my money and the car still has the same problems but Hanvey took the time to find the real problem and made sure it was the real problem before getting paid.
Thank you all for helping me with my car.
Sincerely; Patricia”
“Extraordinary service, a price you can't beat with a stick and a turnaround time that would make a NASCAR pit crew jealous. Matt is an automotive wizard. We have a 31 year old rig that's not easy to repair quickly. Thank you Linda and Heidi for being so hospitable!”
