The Civil Rights Memorial Center is a moving and memorable tribute to the fallen civil rights individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for the movement. It commemorates the African-American suffrage and is inclusive of all minorities experiencing racism and marginalization. The memorial is a thoughtful tribute to the forgotten African ancestors who were murdered through legal and illegal lynching, with stirring and haunting presentations of this country's racial struggles. Designed by Maya Lin, it is a moving piece. The center features nicely done exhibits, including the 'Traveling While Black' virtual reality experience. The improvements made to the museum are amazing, creating one of the best museums. It is a small but powerful must-see exhibit for those interested in history. Visitors note that the staff is friendly and advise that the actual entrance is around the corner from a locked gate. This visit, though hard to watch, is needed to see where we've come from to forge a path toward equality and justice for all.
One of the most moving memorial centers i gave ever experienced. Updated to commemorate the most recent evils. Not only does the museum commemorate the African-American suffrage, but it is inclusive of all minorities, experiencing racism and marginalization.
