“Disappointed that it does not have self checkout! That is important because it allows me to get in & out quickly.
This stores aisles are not as skinny as their other stores, that's good but they might be too wide.
EDIT....after reading other reviews i feel like i should chime in as i don't know what they are talking about.
The store is not dirty. There are no pallets hanging from above. They ARE chronically understaffed. I have never seen more than 1 employee on the registers. But as long as I don't have a long wait to checkout that is fine. Still prefer some self checkout lanes. Apparently they don't put them in new stores until the sales are high enough to support what I guess is an increase in theft/shoplifting. I don't really think about shoplifting but I guess I hope the self-checkout registers have some way of catching chronic shoplifters. They do film us while checking out and they have our credit card info so maybe that helps them combit theft?
I usually bring my old Aldi bag and I don't really show the camera that my bag is empty every time. It IS but it's just not something that I think about most of the time. I prefer the trussville store but it is not convenient most of the time. It's twice as far and takes 3x as long to get there and back from my house.”
“I'm sorta new to shopping at Aldi consistently, and I gotta say: I'm a fan. As a plant-based eater, the price of the organic tofu alone is worth the trip. And the service is great, too. During my last trip, I was struck by the warmth and professionalism of an associate working there. I was so taken by how gracefully she was managing MANY, simultaneous demands that I had to ask her for her name, so I could do what I could to espouse her.
Her name is Brianna, and she is exceptional.
She said she only worked there part-time, but this is the type of employee who deserves long-term recognition. I watched her manage a somewhat belligerent customer while also ringing up my groceries and tending to other customers in the self-checkout line. She was gracious and efficient in equal measure.
I’d never seen her before, but I can confidently say she needs a raise, okay? And if she isn’t already on a managerial track, she should be. I told her how well she was managing everything last night, but I had to go out of my way to praise her publicly, too.”
“There is nothing this place does that does not impress. I love the food, the bakery, the products and especially the service. Thank you to the owners for providing such a gem.”

“Store clean, bright, inviting. Publix usually has what I am wanting though a little pricey. Employees are always smiling & helpful. I love Wednesday's Sushi Sale. Overall, a great place to shop.”
“That was my first time shopping there in a few years. My last experience wasn't great. Didn't feel they had a good selection of things then a friend suggested I try it out again. So I did. Glad I did. Got some great things for under $20.”
“I came in store today it was nice and stocked.Made it to register one cashier. He still held it down .Never got upset,or frustrated as the line got longer
He was speedy and very nice to the people in front of me as well.Eventually help came but please give him a raise or honorable mention. This is the type of employee every store needs.Great job Pat, I'm the 6'4 woman that came thru your line (inside joke)”

“Staff is always very nice, usually not a long line. Switched from another big name pharmacy in Gardendale. Has been night and day difference. No drive-through, however that can't be helped because of location. Competitive on pricing if not using insurance or buying rx's for pet.”
“What a great store. I found a $3 dozen eggs with an obviously wrong sign at $1 they sold it to me for the $1. Then I found a .50 cent can of beans with a $10 sign so I paid $10 for it because that’s fair, right.”
“Prices can be a bit up and down, some things feel like a bargain while others seem slightly higher. The store itself is clean and conveniently located close to my house, which makes it an easy stop.
Every now and then I can’t find a specific item I’m after, like a certain type of chips, and it turns out they’re just out of stock. It happens. Overall though, I still love shopping here.”

“Thank you Davis!!! I know it was your last shift today so thank you for helping me anyways! I didn’t realize they closed at 6:00 and I needed medicine for my child and Davis graciously mixed up the medicine after they were closed so my baby could have what he needed, even though I should have realized what time they closed. Thank you!!!”
“I had the BEST service from this Publix teammate on Friday, 8.28.25. Yuri has served me before on an early morning visit, at the Deli. THANK YOU for taking, probably your break time to help me while I was in need, working to untangle my bracelets.
Not only did Yuri stop to help me, she fixed my jewelry so the issue doesn't happen again. PHENOMENAL Concierge Service, I truly APPRECIATE her stopping to resolve my problem, when she didn't have to. THANK YOU so much.”
