I've rented/returned two cars with the new Skyland location. So far it's been great. No frills but the staff is nice and they're prepared!

I can't comment on the rental experience at this location but we just came here because we had an issue with locking the car we rented at Hertz @ ATL. A friendly Hertz employee was eager to help us out and resolved the issue. His name was a Miracle, and the 5 stars are for him.

ZERO competency. We didn’t get the car we reserved, they gave us one 100$ more when we got there. Still unresolved. Then they weren’t at the address listed for the drop-off. I’d taken a pic of where they said the drop-off was. No one there, they were actually told to leave, is what people at this address told us when we arrived. We called and were told to go back to the original site. Turned out to be the same address posted before, so my husband asked for help from a nearby Enterprise rental office. They helped us get to yet ANOTHER address for Hertz, which turned out to be a parking lot. No office. Thank you, Enterprise, for helping us out! Guess who we’ll be using in the future?

Do not try to rent a car from Hertz in Tuscaloosa, AL. They are no longer located in the Merchants Walk Shopping Center but you won’t know that until you drive there. Then you will see a sign out front with the new address, on the other side of town, so you will drive there and discover a Shell gas station. Out of confusion you will go inside the nearby car dealership and they will send you to Enterprise Car rental nearby. When you get there they will offer to rent you a car but they can’t honor the Hertz reservation that you made online. They will tell you to try to find the new Hertz office that is in a mostly abandoned strip shopping center down the street but it doesn’t have any kind of signs…anywhere. So after you waste a bunch more time that you didn’t have for a wild goose chase, you see a Hertz box truck in a parking lot and decide what the hell! You go to a couple of dirty looking closed storefronts and try the door. The first is unlocked and you walk inside because you were sheltered as a child and not allowed to watch horror movies. Not appreciating the danger of the situation, you scream “hello” and when you’re still alive after a minute or so you decide to move to the next possible murder scene. This time you think you hit the jackpot and find 2 young men in a storefront with absolutely no markings to indicate it’s Hertz. They confirm that you did indeed find the new Hertz office but with less than no effort they can’t find a single reservation that begins with your last initial. The only good thing about this 1:15 hour adventure is that you get to return home…alive…no car, but you’re alive to regroup and fight it out later with a printout of the reservation number… That is if you have any confidence in a car rental company who can’t find a marker and a piece of paper to write Hertz on. Just avoid Hertz!!!…

Changed place and gave me a big problem of return. They gave a new address to drop off, and they picked up. They told me they would gave me receipt later, but today is the 3rd day they picked up the car, they still charge me more. Rediculous service. I called Hertz in the returned date to confirm whether I have returned, they told me don't worry and they would deal with this case. However, they did nothing.

We ended up getting in a day late for our game day rental. If anyone has ever been there during game weekends you know its complete chaos! The staff worked hard to accommodate our mistake and found us car. We were so grateful and forever customers! Special shout out to Scott L and Lisa S!!

Upon entering the business the man at the counter was wear AirPods talking loud on a personal call. After standing several minutes, I was finally acknowledge while acting as if I was a bother. No introduction was given. I reserved a full size car and got a Jeep Compass with no explanation. After reaching Tennessee the wiper fluid light came on. When I reached Kentucky the oil change light came on. It's evident that the vehicle was not serviced prior to pickup. I was traveling with my daughte, grandchild and sister. When returning the vehicle. I encountered the same rude behavior. After standing for a few minutes the man asked, "Are you returning too?" When the woman went out to check the vehicle, the man stated "Can you clean the chil residue from the seat so they won't charge you." I went back outside and wiped the leather seat off. I stated to him that the washer fluid light was on and the oil change light as well. Again this was never acknowledge. I would not recommend this location nor will I use it again.

FRAUD. Both Expedia and Hertz agreed to a 2 day rental with me returning the vehicle on a Sunday. When I went to return it Sunday, the site was closed, did not have a drop box, and had a sign stating not to leave it. This deceit doubled my expenses. NEVER AGAIN.

I would give this location zero stars if I could. Rented a car from Atlanta with a Tuscaloosa drop off the same day (Sat). This location has NO AFTER HOURS DROPBOX!!!! Called Hertz and the Hertz system says they do have a drop box. Please see my picture of the door, Hertz. They wanted to charge us to extend our rental or drive to a location 1 hour away. We didn’t have a car to do that

Tyler was super helpful picking me up earlier in the week and the crew has a great vibe every time I've rented over the last couple years. Latest Prius rental was especially smooth.

Had booked a rental online thru booking for hertz, 2 weeks before my vacation. When I walked in to pick up rental, I was informed they didn't have the vehicle I reserved (SUV), then said they only had the Camry, that was just returned by person in front of me. I was not happy about this, bc then that defeated the whole purpose of getting a rental car in weeks advance and a lower rate! So due to this, we had to cancel this reservation and go to budget and pay more and get whatever was available at the moment! Very rude guy that was working as well, like he didn't even care! Bad customer service and will never use hertz again!

Double charged, even though they don't accept chime or prepaid cards?, don't accept cash. So double the expenses and still no rental. Out of $300 for 7-10 business days.

In general, the information online and what I was told in person doesn’t match, so it took a lot longer than I expected. However, Megan W provided me with genuinely one of the best customer experiences I’ve ever had. She was very patient and understanding, and also very kind and helpful. She clarified everything I had a question about and waited an entire extra hour when I had issues I had to resolve. I genuinely cannot express how grateful I am for her, as I’m sure this experience would’ve been a lot difficult otherwise. Thank you Megan!!
