American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 is Anchorage’s oldest veteran service organization, welcoming active duty members, veterans, and their families. The post offers food seven days a week from 5 to 8 pm, along with pool tables, shuffleboard, darts, and a popular backyard with a fire pit. It is a friendly, efficient place with nice people, making it easy to meet others, especially those with military backgrounds or family ties. Volunteers play a big role, and the post has hosted historic events like the Purple Heart Highway Senate Bill signing.
