I don't care about the upcoming name change. Alaska born and raised folks know - CU1 is for Alaskans. CU1 just doesn't do it for me. It's the convenience of "Global," for me. It's the hours for me. It's keeping the waiting times down for me. Employees are helpful and consistent (what's said here, will stand at the location across the street). Love being able to grab a prescription or a few groceries after my transaction.”

“This is your friendly neighborhood Global Credit Union branch. I have done business and personal banking with them. I go here once a week and listen the staff here is well hired I will say. They are ALL class acts very helpful and going out of their way to be friendly. The wait can be long at times but that is the case everywhere else. I have tested this theory. Let’s be patient everyone, the staff here makes it worth the wait.I will say one last thing. Try starting a new business, starting your life over from scratch, and having zero in Anchorage in 2020. Global Credit Union which was Alaska USA back then and particularly this branch are the ones who said yes to my business account, mortgage, and personal account when others said no. A difficult time in my life and they helped me. Here we are three years later, successful business, mortgage is strong, and you know my personal life is blessed. Maybe too much credit to this place but the good Lord knows they were a part in this plan and so do I.”

“Gerardo helped us get an increase in our credit limit. we were gonna go on vacation so we talked to him a few days before we left and while we were out of state he was super attentive and called letting us know what happens and that we were approved for the credit increases which we were incredibly happy about. at the same time he was also looking over if we could change our auto loan over to cu1. he asked his manager and said the amount we paid was more than the value so we would have to down the difference. i said 2 months time but that has already past and it will take longer than that haha he was super helpful, friendly and attentive. i wanted to gift him a gift basket but wasn’t sure if it was allowed haha just know if u get Gerardo, ur in good hands!

“I was just at the Debarr branch. I had to get a new card because I foolishly followed a link I went to and got Scammed! Fortunately for me I was able to get a new card issued today at this branch. I was helped by Serani Tafune. She was incredible!! She not only got my card to me right away , she helped me get an issue fixed with my email account !
I have been unable to access my email for 2 weeks. That’s how I got scammed, by following a link that was supposed to help me. I’m a 73 year old gramma and not tech savvy at all. Thanks to Serani Tafune I am back into my emails with over 999 to catch up on, and I have a new debit/credit card!!

“I've always had really great experiences with AKUSA until they did some strange merger & called themselves Global. #1 the Global app won't let me login period. The web site will only let me login 1/4 the time. The AKUSA app was great & worked every time, filled all my needs.
#2 they decided that if you want to transfer or withdraw over a few thousand $ that they now want a penalty percentage for you using YOUR MONEY. So that's stealing & it's monstrous. So your money is trapped there & if you need to use it to say...fix your roof....they want 10% & steal money from you. I'm forced to assume they took on a bunch of bad liabilities with their merger, bailed out failing banks they bought & don't hold enough reserves to cover their liabilities.
#3 The name Global is terrible. Every customer hates it & we instantly think Globalist, globalization, giant nameless faceless corporation NOT Alaska USA. If you mention the crappy name to an employee they get a glazed look in their eyes & repeat some corporate talking point that was given to them in a mandatory training video. It's sad. I use to really love AKUSA, have family that works there & have met some really wonderful, helpful tellers but what ever compromise they made after the financial decision that created Global Inc. was a bad decision.”
“This credit union is our favorite. They have many locations in Anchorage. I was in here recently to do several transactions. Hunter worked with me. His Mom and one sister are mathmaticians like me. We finished our business which included taking some $ from a C/D. It was an easy calculation and his supervisor made sure it was done correctly.”

“Was in a rush and forgot to grab my cash from the ATM. Thankfully no one grabbed it and they were able to put a note on my account and make sure the money made it back in my account when they audited the atm.Also their line/indoor service has always been fast for me. If you do in-person banking on a busy time of month/week, you're going to have a wait anywhere, but at least when I went & there was a long line, they had a full staff of tellers and it went very fast.No, I don't trust myself to remember the right way to use their drive through so I haven't bothered with that in years ?”

I came in to close out an account I no longer needed after paying off a loan and had expected it to take 20 minutes but I was in and out of the building in just over 5 minutes!
