My friend called during covid. When people were working from home. He called and wanted to switch insurance to a new car. He was on the phone for almost an hour. The person never switched it ! He ended up getting into a car accident. Only to find out his insurance was never switched! He was insured 15 years with progressive . Friend ended up losing his license and now owes 50000 and is gonna serve jail time because someone didn't do their job :(

I've been on hold over 13 minutes when the recording says 5-10 minutes. I am not even sure WHY IN THE WORLD does Alaska office even have this recording. I know Alaska is NOT THAT BUSY dealing with issues. I just signed up with this insurance company and will he going elsewhere after my 6 months is up. Crazy, In Alaska be on hold with a local office more than 15 minutes, let alone have this recording/computer answering a phone line. Sad, just sad.

I wrote a different more negative 1 star review of Progressive earlier. One of our cars was totaled by a Progressive insured driver and three weeks after the accident still had not come and gotten our car. We were not paid. I deleted the review Progressive responded to below.The most blame, it turns out, is not Progressive's but a company they contract with Copart. Copart handles totaled vehicles for many insurance companies. They contract only with one towing company that only has rear wheel drive tow vehicles and could not get up to our house to tow the car. Neither Progressive or Carpart were responsive to our dilemma. We had USAA handle it. They also use Carpart but after Carpart again would not come get the car simply told us to hire the towing company (Eagle) that towed the care up here to take it down to Carpart. They are reimbursing us and dealing with Progressive. Carpart and Progressive by extension seemed fine with just letting it go on until spring if necessary.I get it to a point as far as Progressive is concerned. While they were unwilling to dig in and figure it out for us they did continually contact Carpart and were unlikely aware of all the issues.
