Stayed at this hellhole during a moose hunt. Started off ok, middle of the night awoke to yelling and screaming. Complained to the desk, they did nothing. This continued and eventually figured out it was the adjacent room. Banging and yelling continued during the early morning hours. Staff came over several times, giving the occupants "last warning" as the fighting continued. We lost a night of sleep and had to vacate early. We found out that staff knew the occupants and they had been there weeks. Staff also admitted knowing they denied maid service for days on end because they were drinking all day and night and the place was a mess. Broken glass from this room on the carpet in the hallway. Tried to communicate with management, none on site. Staff had "friends" come and go, looked more like a hotel of prostitution than a professional hotel chain. Rooms were dingy and dirty. Tried to complain and get a partial refund with no success. Corporate offered me some rewards points, which I do not want or need and refused to make the stay right. This place is next to a homeless shelter and the property is unmanaged by actual staff, left to run like a pimp hotel. I cannot express just how bad this is and why you should never stay here. We stayed 9-8-2023, room 116.

Budget friendly, good location- downtown area, service is quick. The crowd here flocking around looked unsafe though! We occupied the ground floor queen bed X2 room, the curtains in the room were short width wise that anyone outside can peep in!Free breakfast facility - the coffee was at one corner in the waiting lounge TV room. The breakfast consisted of no pancakes or waffles as shown in posts.Bagel options were good but no cream cheese. It was decent for a one night stay.Rooms: Upper safety latch was missing

This hotel is one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed. The reason why I chose this hotel is because they advertised free 24 hour shuttle to the airport. When I arrived I asked for a 3:30 am shuttle and they told me they had just stopped offering that a day before, so I had to pay for an Uber X. When we entered it was so cold! The staff assisted us in getting sung the thermostat but it was still very cold, we found a huge hole to the outside wall in 16 degree weather! They reserve a $100 “incidental” charge and won’t refund it until up yo 10 days afterwards. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!! Picture is of hole in wall.

I would give zero stars if I could. My wife stayed at this horrific Ramada at the end of October '23. The room's heat was incontrollable and she had to sleep with the windows open. Its Anchorage??? The main complaint here is this-the room was paid for in advance, and they did the typical charge to our debit card of 100.00 for "incidentals" . Problem is the charge posted to our account and did not drop off as a pending authorization should. I have called multiple times and there is NEVER a manager on duty, only a mouthy front desk person who should never have access to a client facing position. Basically we were charged more than twice for accommodations that were at best just a roof. The first few times I called I was told would get a refund, get a refund-nothing. In order for the books to balance, there would have needed to be a legitimate charge-you know basic debit/credit. I shouldn't have to waste my time trying to get 100.00 of my money back that was wrongfully charged. I have found the owners name-and I will attempt to contact him before I get an attorney involved. I NEVER post reviews-but first time in business travel over the last 30 years I have EVER been overcharged and not refunded.

Hotel was dirty. Mentioned about breakfast but no one set up it till 9 am in a morning and frot desk was clueless about breakfast.Parking lot was full of slippery ice and front desk person said that he is working at front desk so he can't do any thing about that. It was really dangerous to walk in Parking lot.

110% don't recommend. The tv in the room wasn't working so I had to watch movies on my phone and WiFi was extremely slow. Room was decent minus the unseen outlet covers. That was trashy. What was even more trashy was the "breakfast" served in the morning. See pics and you'll know why this place isn't the place. P.S the mess isn't my mess, but what I walked into.

Great location, poor staff and valueThe location of the property was excellent, with great walkability and transport options. However, the value for money was poor as the facilities were average and the room size was small. The staff was also unhelpful and unfriendly, which impacted the overall experience. While the cleanliness was decent, the housekeeping could have been better.

Lovely hotel with comfortable location, perfectly clean rooms. Thank you to the staff. You are the best. We had large suitcases and after checking out we needed to visit the supermarket, the staff were very helpful and left our luggage with us. We are glad we chose your hotel.I will definitely come to your hotel again. Thank you very much for your help and support ?

The only plus was the young lady trying to check us in around10:00 at night. She was trying to do her best with a bad situation. Our room was not ready and we had to wait 20-30 minutes for it to be cleaned. She seemed embarrassed by this. Finally got to the room and the floor was WET. Not damp, wet! The whole floor was soaking wet. Had to be put into a different room (queen not king bed). It was clean but the bathroom smelled like mildew. The portable air conditioner quit working sometime overnight.Breakfast was worse than abysmal. Nobody could drink the coffee, the food options were very limited, and there were a number of signs posted stating a person could eat ‘x’ or ‘y’, but not both. Seriously. The trash cans in the dining area were full and overflowing. The morning staff was just hanging out at the front desk, and nobody seemed to care to attend to the mess in the dining area.Parking was a problem as well, limited spaces, with overflow behind the building in a sketchy area. No overhang so packing the car when it was raining got us wet and my husband stepped in one of the potholes soaking his shoes.Food & drinks: Breakfast was a joke, and a bad one at that. Limited food choices and they tried to dictate what you ate. (See picture above)

Location was decent but I think anywhere in anchorage works because it's a small city and you can get anywhere pretty quickly. That being said, this place sucked. Our room stunk the minute you opened the door. The room door was cracked open when we got to it, and when we needed to use the key it wasn't working, so a trip down to the front desk. There was no toilet paper when we got in, so another trip to the front desk. The floors were dirty - I wore white socks and they were black within the few hours of walking around the room only when I needed to. There were liquids spilled in the refrigerator that i cleaned myself so we could use the refrigerator. Bathroom had hair without. There was also a sticky spot right in a main walk area so it was just clear overall that basic housekeeping wasnt done. That being said, I did my best not to look too much because the more I looked the more disgusting it was. We were told the night we checked in (around 730pm) that breakfast was at 6am, come 6am we were told there was no breakfast due to a delayed shipment (they didnt know this the night before when they told us about breakfast?). I advise look elsewhere. The cost should be much less than they are asking for...

I did not read these reviews prior to making a reservation and am pleased to be able to report that the brief stay we had at this establishment was fine. The Anchorage Ramada, about a mile, maybe mile and a half east of downtown was clean, free of vagrants, quiet and pleasant. The staff at the front desk was helpful and attentive, and our room even had a small porch/patio area where we could step outside for fresh air and see the surrounding neighborhood. With no concern for our safety, we walked from our hotel to the downtown area to see a few of the local sights and enjoy a seafood dinner. I don't know if this place has problems at other times of the year, but me and my wife were visiting in July ... when the sun is shining at least twenty hours per day.I noticed when we were checking in that this facility did not look like a standard "cookie cutter" Ramada Hotel. As I learned, after inquiring, it used to be property of the federal government. A hotel that was used to house family and officials involved with the U.S. military. It was in good shape, not run down, ugly or bedecked in "dated" furnishings/wallpaper/carpeting. We had no complaints and I would stay at the Anchorage Ramada again without hesitation.FWIW, there are homeless folks a couple miles east of this location (as I found out when exploring in my rental car) but the "unhoused" weren't aggressive or hanging out anywhere near this hotel.

The hotel was able to work in when we arrived late on a Thursday. The hotel was cleaned the next day all over by a good staff of cleaners. I will post pictures. We had a one day where our communication was off with the cleaners but the staff called to make things right in a timely manner. The location of this hotel is perfect for walking around downtown Anchorage and getting to the train. The staff is happy to get you on the shuttle. There is breakfast and coffee in the morning and the staff are friendly and helpful. It was a good home base for all the day trips we had planned.

We are here right now and after reading reviews we were really nervous about the experience (we booked a cruise very last minute...) Room and bathroom were clean, beds clean and comfortable, and had a great night sleep. Breakfast is out - not a huge choice - but plenty to pick from for one morning. Coffee too. Check in staff was pleasant. When I compared prices with other hotels that were all sold out ($350-600/night) - I was keeping my expectations low. We are pleasantly surprised and would stay here again before a cruise.

This place is a filthy dump. If you have any other options stay somewhere else. It's obvious they have made the decision not too launder the sheets. We found pubic hairs like crazy when we turned down the bed. We complained so they moved us to a new room. The exact same thing happened there. Finally we made them get a brand new set of sheets and change out everything before we could even sleep there. Just nasty. One of my business partners showed up the next evening and when he checked into the room the room hadn't even been cleaned. The front desk staff started arguing with him about it. I've owned two motels in the past and am partners in one now, if this ever happened at one of my properties I would fire everybody and start over again.Rooms: Just plain nasty. Please do yourself a favor and find another place to stay. Anchorage is crazy expensive, this place should have been free and even then I would have complained.

The front desk guy that greeted us when we arrived was the *only* positive from our stay… the experience quickly went downhill from there. The hallways were cool but the minute we walked into the room it was sweaty hot and smelled like BO covered with chemical. The AC unit (stand alone pumping exhaust “out” the window) put more heat in the room than it did to cool it. It was so incredibly loud- between the AC unit, the paper thin walls, and street noise I got almost no sleep. I get the hotel can’t really cobtrol some of this but we were already on edge with how gross the room was after being “cleaned”.The bathroom was disgusting- there was what appeared to be blood on the light. The tub looked like something from a movie of a dirty bathroom. It’s hard to capture with the lighting but it was bad.I went to the woman working the front desk saying our AC wasn’t working and she was less than kind and that it is what it is. The man sitting there came with us and fidgeted with the unit. It didn’t fix it and we just resigned ourselves that we got had on this stay.I’ve stayed in a wide variety of hotels/airbnbs based on location/needs/budget. I’m willing to sacrifice amenities for proximity but this was too far. This room may go down as our worst stay.
