The restaurant is grossly understaffed. Problem areas were the taste of food and service. Halibut was great on day 1 but the world famous clam chowder, shrimp scampi, and the broccolini were sub-par, day 2. Terrible service all around, though the lady at bar was trying to cater to everyone (about 15 people) single-handedly. Felt bad for her running around and trying to make guests feel welcomed but the hotel leadership needs to do something. This is just not fun and relaxing..

Very nice hotel. Great views and great staff. Housekeeping must be frantic keeping this castle polished. Love that jade staircase.

Stayed here for work recently, the hotel was great for the price point. Parking is pretty convenient and the gym is good. Bonus- a moose was hanging out in the cemetery across the street all day!

Good views. The deferred maintenance issues of this hotel are adding up around the building, including the rooms.

It's a nice looking hotel, clean rooms, comfy beds and centrally located in anchorage. But unlike most hotels I've stayed recently, they go out of their way to charge you for the little things. Breakfast is $28 and there's not even complementary coffee in the morning. They have free hot water and hot coco in the afternoon, but it seems they really want to make a few extra bucks selling four dollar coffees despite charging several hundred dollars a night. When will managers understand the little things matter!

My recent stay at Sheraton Anchorage was overall pleasant, with a few areas for improvement. The staff were friendly and welcoming upon check-in, creating a positive first impression. The room itself was spacious and cozy, equipped with all the basic amenities one would expect. The hotel's central location in downtown Anchorage made shopping and dining easily accessible, with many options within walking distance. For guests driving, the sheltered multistorey carpark adjacent to the hotel was a convenient perk. However, there were some downsides to note. The bathtub was low and shallow, which may disappoint those who enjoy a deep soak. Additionally, the pillows were too soft for my preference, feeling almost nonexistent.Additionally, I encountered issues with room service. On the second morning of my stay, there was no room cleaning service, and there were no clear indications in the room regarding how to request this service. When I contacted the operator, they seemed surprised and unprepared to address the issue promptly.Furthermore, I was disappointed by the lack of knowledge among the staff regarding the operating hours of key transportation services, such as the popular Aurora Winter Train. As a traveler relying on local expertise, I expected the hotel staff to have a basic understanding of such essential information.Overall, while my stay at Sheraton Anchorage had its highlights, there are areas where improvements could be made to enhance the guest experience.

Service has been great. Parking is expensive, bathroom in room is a little awkward, with old toilets and it is positioned very close to the door and tub.

Ptarmigan Lounge has a cool vibe. This is a restaurant inside the Sheraton Hotel. Cindy and Shawayne gave impeccable service. I felt like I was the only customer in the restaurant even though it was busy. The jumbo shrimp scampi was phenomenal. Dipping the crostinis in the sauce of white wine and butter with a hint of lemon was delicious. First course hit the spot. I could eat another order of that!! Second course 4 jumbo scallops with angel hair, not a heavy dish, but filling. I thought the goat cheese added a nice flavor to this dish. Rounding it off with a chocolate torte, rich to the taste, but very delicious for any chocolate lovers. My hat is off to the Chef Muhammad and Ukrainian Chef executed each meal with technique, the food was Fabulous!! Will recommend this restaurant to family and friends. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!!The room was nice and toasty the way I love it. Staff treats you like family. Eric does a great job in the club lounge. Very attentive to all guest who come through the door. Overall experience was a 10 out 10. I’ll be back to enjoy this experience again!! Thanks.
