I will never again recommend The Pet Stop. After this last year (2023), NEVER seeing a veterinarian just techs, not even during my 10 year old German Shepherd Luna's Cancer tests/surgery, dental surgery, x-rays showing how severe her hips were or even a return phonecall when Luna lost the complete use of her back legs!! I had sent a video (which they requested) if Luna got worse. I made sure the veterinarian (s) had it 1st thing in the morning. NOTHING! Called again for them to guide me, NOTHING! 3rd and final attempt to get help, the front desk told me don't wait, take Luna to the emergency vet. My sweetest, loving rescue DID NOT deserve to be ignored on her last day of her life, eyes so full of panic and pain!! Did the veterinarian ever call me after getting the records from the ER, sympathy card.... NO, nothing! After many years with The Pet Stop where did the compassion go and time to talk with the pet owners?I will say the front desk and the techs were patient and kind to my sweet Luna Girl.RIP ??? 12/8/2023

After being a client for 20-some years, counting the time they were located off Tudor, I was not able to get care for my 2 kitties.I loved the care and love they gave the 3 dogs we had owned over the years, especially the time with Dr. Scott. We had a hiatus of 5 years between our dogs and these 2 kitties. This put us in the "new" client statis. At this time, they are not taking "new" clients, just new patients.I am sad that I need to find a new clinic for the kitties.

They wouldn't know a qualified technician/assistant if it bit them in their rear. They string people along...multiple times...they need new management.

10 years. Starting with Dr.Palmatier and Dr.Wilson, then Dr.Michetti, Dr.Chang, and Dr.Willis. Each time for the last 10 years - handful of our pets received excellent and compassionate care from the entire staff, even when they were short staffed and overwhelmed. They communicate well with each other from front to back office, and with the clients. When in semi-urgent last minute need, they worked hard to help our pet(s) to be seen and treated through their wait/cancellation list.Their phone app is an excellent tool to keep track of all your pets; ie appointments, vaccinations, medications, and more. The app also has an instant chat messaging with the staff, and they do respond promptly. While dealing with state and national shortage of general and specialized Vets and Techs, with more Vets retiring than graduating, we hope clinics like this one will continue to find a way to grow and expand to more locations in Alaska.

Previously, I had given this Vets office a good review. But after the way they treated me today I can no longer recommend them. I have been a regular client for their veterinarian and grooming services and in 2 years of taking my dogs here I never had this issue until today. I made an appointment for our youngest poodle to have her first grooming. I was told on the phone when I made her appointment to arrive between 7 and 7:30 am and even wrote it on my calendar as I was being verbally told. I even asked the receptionist to repeat the arrival time frame to me. So as instructed I arrived roughly at 7:15am for drop off. When I arrived the door was locked and the groomer came to the door informing me I could not drop her off until 7:30. I informed him that is not what I was instructed to do when I made my appointment and was told to drop off 7am to 7:30am. A previous dog of mine had recieved over half a dozen prior groomings sessions at this facility and had never had a drop off issue before (maybe they changed their time and receptionist wasnt aware) and was always informed the same time frame for drop off for her. The groomer told me I would have to come back and he wouldnt take her. I then told him I had to get my kids ready for school and wouldn't be able to wait. So I politely said please cancel my appointment and we can reschedule with better instructions. He said I would have a $50 fee for no show. I said I am not a no show sir. I am here on time and ready to check in my dog with you. He shrugged his shoulders at me and slammed the door in my face! Highly unprofessional! Groomer had huge attitude and was rude. Normally, he has been very nice and I have trusted him around my dogs, maybe it is an off day for him? I, however, do not recommend leaving your pups alone with him. Cannot trust someone with anger issues and a short fuse working safely with your animals! Please avoid grooming services at all costs here. There are many many other highly recommended facilities in anchorage. As far as veterinarian services go for this facility. 5 out of 5 stars. The receptionist is very professional and the staff is educated on your pets needs. I have never had a negetive experience. Wait times can occasionally be lengthy but other than that veterinarian medical services are top notch!

The waiting room is spacious with multiple entrances/exits which is very nice with an over excited pup that wants to say hi to anyone and everyone. The only negative thing that I experienced during my visit is trying to fill out a ton of paperwork with an anxious dog that can't sit still. They have an app so it would be ideal if these papers could have been done electronically prior to our visit.

I've been using The Pet Stop for a number of years for the dogs the rescue I worked with. Recently I began taking my own personal dogs there. The atmosphere of the clinic is the same. The response time from emails and phone calls is a bit slower than previous and definitely not as quick as I would hope, but all in all it's a solid clinic that I trust.

Dr. Earhart was amazing. She knew my breed of my dog. Of course she would but she had yellow labs herself. Very friendly very professional. The whole staff was amazing! I would recommend the pet stop for anyone with any kind of animal!

When i got a new dog in anchorage I made an effort to find a vet and establish care. Made an appointment several months out for both dogs. But ever sense they don’t have time for routine care or emergency care. So allergy shots or cuts and things like that wait. I understand being busy. But I don’t understand how anyone manages to schedule all their pets treatment several months out. Wish I hadn’t waited to establish care previously and kept looking.

Called for a health certificate for my bird, was told not taking new clients. Was not a new client, went there for my last health certificate for same bird. Was told account inactive and would have to start over as a new patient. Not taking new patients. OMFG!
