“The staff was extremely nice! She introduced us several great drinks! The store clerk was a little cold when we first walked in, but she was very enthusiastic when I asked her for introductions or recommendations! There are a lot of wines made in tin cans here, which I haven’t seen in other states, but they are so delicious!”

“When I am on vacation I also take vacation from buying groceries, so this was a routine stop for me during my stay on Cleary Summit in 2011, 2012 and 2013. I drove right by it almost daily on my way up the hill from Fairbanks, so it truly was a convenient stop. In addition to the usual assortment of convenience-store food--and they have a nice variety--there is a local person who makes sandwiches and cookies that are sold from this location, and I enjoyed having a few of her homemade items in the fridge to snack on while staying up nights watching for the Aurora Borealis. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and have enjoyed stopping there to pick up a local paper or hear some local news/conversation in addition to gassing up the car or getting groceries. Yes, prices are higher in this neck of the woods but as it is the only store between Cleary Summit and Fairbanks, I am very glad they are there. Looking forward to stopping in again in 2014! Update: Stopped here again several times in March, 2014--as always, the staff was really nice, the selections were good and the local homemade products were delicious.”

“Great prices on Wine. Fantastic selection in general. Can be sold out of stock on certain specific spirits (green chartreuse, Courvoisier, Casamigos) in my experience, however they do their best with supply issues to Fairbanks. Great customer service every time I go.”

“It will be much better when they change vendors. It's truly sad this store isn't carrying in stock Andy Capp HOT Fries: no other brands taste as good. I've been promised now for three months to have back in stock: still zero ?”

“The Oaken Keg, what can ya say. They always have a good selection at reasonable prices and they're the only place I know of where you can get Simply Hard Lemonade and Estrella Jalisco beer, I believe. Good specials, too.”

“If you're in Fairbanks, skip the Brown Jug. Come here instead. This place is locally owned and, while the selection isn't as massive, it's very well curated and cuts out all the clutter! Everything in here is good. They have an incredible beer selection, and an even better singles strategy. What do I mean? Well, at most places where you can buy beer/cider/seltzer by the single, you get charged a little extra than if you had bought a 6-pack. Here, it's just the opposite! If you make your own six-pack of unique beers, you'll get a DISCOUNT! I asked the kindly clerks about this and they told me they "want to encourage people to try new things :) " They also sell homebrew supplies if you want to make your own beer and wine!”
