“Absolutely stunning new location with such a pleasant atmosphere inside. The new store seems to have many more options and products, but all of the favorites from the old store too. So happy to have Roaming Root in the middle of town now, it's super convenient. I'm so happy there is a place like this in town for local people to sell their art and goods.”

“A wonderful store where it is clean and pleasant. A large selection of different foods that are of high quality. It is very similar to a European department store. I come from the Czech Republic and it reminds me a lot of home. By the way, very pleasant and helpful staff ?”

“The customer service was quite accommodating with the requests we made, and the food was good. Prices are higher here in Alaska than I’m used to in the lower 48, but that’s just a function of the location of the store and is consistent with the rest of the Alaska market.”

“When I am on vacation I also take vacation from buying groceries, so this was a routine stop for me during my stay on Cleary Summit in 2011, 2012 and 2013. I drove right by it almost daily on my way up the hill from Fairbanks, so it truly was a convenient stop. In addition to the usual assortment of convenience-store food--and they have a nice variety--there is a local person who makes sandwiches and cookies that are sold from this location, and I enjoyed having a few of her homemade items in the fridge to snack on while staying up nights watching for the Aurora Borealis. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful, and have enjoyed stopping there to pick up a local paper or hear some local news/conversation in addition to gassing up the car or getting groceries. Yes, prices are higher in this neck of the woods but as it is the only store between Cleary Summit and Fairbanks, I am very glad they are there. Looking forward to stopping in again in 2014! Update: Stopped here again several times in March, 2014--as always, the staff was really nice, the selections were good and the local homemade products were delicious.”

“I have never been in any grocery chain store where everyone was so helpful. Even other customers seemed pleased to help out a visitor to this state. Wonderful shopping experience.”

“I don't know why, but I really like shopping at Fred Meyer and will shop at one if there is one in the city I am visiting. For those of you unfamiliar with Fred Meyer, the set up is similar to Wal Mart in which you have your grocery side and then the side that sells items you would expect to find in a department store (clothes, books, outdoor sporting equipment, kitchen wares, etc). But I prefer shopping at Fred Meyer and think the atmosphere is just different from Wal Mart. Anyways, my husband and I ended up shopping at this particular location twice while staying in Fairbanks, to stock up on groceries. Fred Meyer is part of the Kroger family and so if you have a loyalty card with this market chain, you can provide the phone number you used to sign up for that, at check out to get additional savings. Convenient location with plenty of parking. The store was clean and I appreciated the disinfectant wipes inside, by the front entrance so that I could wipe my cart down. If I was a local, I would shop here regularly.”

“Can't take a Grand Tour of Europe? Then take a tasting tour at Euro Style. If your budget is $10 or $100, you can find all kinds of European sweets, cookies, pickles, meats and veggies. Please, please save some Alaskan dried blueberries for me!”

“I live in Omaha Nebraska and we have no fred myers jewelry repair and I had a very sentimental chain I had purchased from their with warranty. Gabriela made it super easy on me getting my chain sent out repaired cleaned and sent back super fast. I was worried but Gabriela made me feel like I was in good hands keeps in contact and gave updates when recieved fixed and sent out. She made it super easy and took a Lotta stress off of me in handling and taking care of this matter. I truly appreciate the great work she and her employes put into their job and the comfort in dealing and working with sentimental non replaceable merchandise. Thank you so much Gabriela it looks great and you are amazing with customer service very respectfully and great communication!!!”

“The BEST floral department in Fairbanks. I always keep fresh flowers in my house & Safeway is the only place to get them. Just have to add - being a girl who grew up in California, if you don't wrap your flowers during the winter to keep them warm from outside & the car they will freeze & die within a day.”
