“Probably the most helpful and friendly experience we had in all of Fairbanks. Came in looking for polar mittens, and left with more than my intended purchase, and incredible recommendations for dining and other experiences in Alaska. The staff was very helpful and friendly.”
“The zippers on my sitka bibs after 7 years finally gave up in me, brought them in and needed them back quick for a long hunting trip. After a little pleading I got the wait time down to about a week, and low and behold a week later and I had them back. On this hunting trip I used them once and repurposed them as a make shift pillow for my dog. She ate up a couple teeth on them, NOOO! Brought em back said they were a couple weeks out but I can wait cause I don’t need them terribly. This place is a small shop and things look pricey but these are Alaska made for Alaska environments. Moral of the story, you get what you pay for and these guys are worth it. If I didn’t just learn how to roughly sew I’d be taking my pants to them. Good local small business.”
“Alot of expensive overpriced wannabe "hype beast" clothing. Where a branded Champion Tshirt will cost you 50$ just for your teenage son to spill/stain it with vape liquid and ask for you to get him another because he (needs it for school) because apparently "he does better in class because when he's doubtful of himself, I guess he can always look down at himself to be graciously reminded that he is, infact, A CHAMPION... ??Okay foreal Zumiez isnt too bad when you can catch a sale!”

“Prospector isn't the place to go if you’re looking for bargain-bin brands, but it’s easily the most reliable shop in town for high-quality outdoor gear. They carry mid-to-high-end clothing that actually lasts. While it’s not the cheapest, it is definitely my first stop during their holiday sales. Whenever I can’t find a specific item at my usual spots, I can always count on Prospector to have it in stock.”
