“Helpful & knowledgable staff, especially at the fishing counter. This is a locally owned Alaskan company & I have had many good experiences here over the years and have been able to find good gear at more reasonable prices than some other places. They also offer a discount for state of Alaska employees.”
“Wonderful customer service! Zack helped get me and two kids outfitted with cross country skis, boots and poles. He took so much care in explaining sizing and maintenance. This was incredibly helpful to us as beginners skiers.”
“The zippers on my sitka bibs after 7 years finally gave up in me, brought them in and needed them back quick for a long hunting trip. After a little pleading I got the wait time down to about a week, and low and behold a week later and I had them back. On this hunting trip I used them once and repurposed them as a make shift pillow for my dog. She ate up a couple teeth on them, NOOO! Brought em back said they were a couple weeks out but I can wait cause I don’t need them terribly. This place is a small shop and things look pricey but these are Alaska made for Alaska environments. Moral of the story, you get what you pay for and these guys are worth it. If I didn’t just learn how to roughly sew I’d be taking my pants to them. Good local small business.”
“Sentry Hardware is one of my favorite stores. If you can't find something hardware related they probably have it at Sentry. The last place I know of you can buy nails or screws by the pound.”
“Love the whole place an downstairs store everyone there is great people in the whole place keep up the good work people also enjoy the holidays while your closed you all deserve a day off ?”
“My go-to shop for trail running and XC ski gear in Fairbanks! Beaver Sports is locally owned by accomplished athletes and dedicated community members, Nick and Kristen Janssen. Both the staff and owners have a wealth of knowledge about all seasons of Alaska sports and outdoor activities. It's rare to find a store that is diverse yet specialized enough to outfit niche pursuits like winter ultra endurance racing. Fairbanks is truly fortunate to have such a unique resource supporting its outdoor community!”
“I had a great experience at 907 Surplus thanks to Jon. From the moment I walked in, he was personable, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. He took the time to answer my questions, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured I found exactly what I was looking for.
What really stood out was his excellent customer service he was knowledgeable without being pushy and made the entire interaction feel welcoming and easy. It’s clear he cares about both the customers and the store.
If you stop by 907 Surplus, I highly recommend asking for Jon. He truly goes above and beyond!”
“Had a nice holiday shopping trip today. The male cashier was helpful and so friendly. My family got a three hundred dollar gift card from a friend. Was nice, kind of higher prices with top name brands. Jordan and Nike. Sorel boots Skechers and more! I love their selection of backpacks and lunch bags with good sales throughout. Clearances were still high.”
“Always had a good experience at this location and they always have what I wanted in stock. Wish they were open longer but that isn't up to them its up to the mall and their schedule!”
“I love Sportsmans Warehouse! Lots of awesome camping gear, guns, ammo, bows, and other hunting and fishing equipment as well. The staff is always super friendly and helpful! The store is very well kept and organized. I recommend checking it out if you haven't been in there!”
“Probably the most helpful and friendly experience we had in all of Fairbanks. Came in looking for polar mittens, and left with more than my intended purchase, and incredible recommendations for dining and other experiences in Alaska. The staff was very helpful and friendly.”
