Crow Creek Mine offers a fun and interesting historical experience. The well-preserved original buildings and village create a rustic, authentic feel, like a time warp back to the gold rush era. The gorgeous grounds are bursting with flowers in summer. Visitors can enjoy a demonstration and walk down to the creek to pan for gold, which is a very fun, relaxing, and focused activity that provides a truly Alaskan experience. You might not find nuggets, perhaps just a flake or two, but it is a special and different outing. The site is a good place to see if you are interested in gold panning and is recommended for families with children. Some note the admission can feel a little expensive.
Didn't get any gold in the creek, but the complimentary baggie they give you has a few flakes in it. Was definitely a fun adventure. The old buildings are super neat as well
