Fun place with an interesting history. Grounds were gorgeous and bursting with flowers when we visited in late July. Did not arrive in time to pan for gold.

We had so much fun! This would be perfect for all ages. Wear boots if you have them. The views were also amazing.

Pretty cool place. Didn't find any gold but got some in a tube. It was a different experience. Very rustic and enjoyed touring around the old grounds. It was a truly Alaskan experience.

People were super nice and did their best to show us what we needed to do! We had fun but did not find so much as a speck of gold in the river.

Took the kids here to have them learn what panning for gold truly entailed. While we found only specs of gold, it was worth the adventure and gave them a better appreciation of what a hard living gold panning was. No guarentee you will find any gold in the creek.Friendly dog and cat on premise. Cool little museum town to explore, lots of hiking, camping space (no hook-ups). The drive to/from the mine is interesting. The views are great also.

Great family outdoor time. Cooper walked to the creek with us and hung out in the cold water the entire 4 hours. Didn't find many flakes, but it was fun and kept us entertained. Hunting for gold was on the top of our AK adventure. Lots of history here.

We stayed in our small RV. We knew there weren't hookups or trash cans so not really sure what the $25 fee is for, porta potty? No lights on the property. Very dark. We hoped the clouds would clear so we could see the Aurora Borealis. It is a beautiful location though. Odd that they lock the gate at night. I've never been locked into a campground. The self guided tour of the property is worth it. Very interesting and beautiful. The ladies in the shop were very informative and friendly. I'd go back if in the area and stay.

This place by itself is decent. You can see old houses of miners and take a walk to reach the serene creek where you can relax. That said, panning for gold here is an absolute waste of time, money, and energy. Two of us spent 50 bucks together to spend all our time getting our hands dirty for finding gold whose value would be around 50 cents. We really regret it and wish we'd spent the time seeing all the houses, strolling and relaxing at the creek instead of lugging buckets and shovels around on a relatively hot day.If you must learn about panning for gold, I suggest watching others doing it or choosing the activity for one person per group.TL; DR: Don't recommend the mining/any activity here for that matter (just not worth your while). Just pay the entry fee and take a walk at your own pace and enjoy the old houses and the creek.

We came here for the kids to pan for gold. The pay dirt had flakes of gold in it do they all got to experience finding gold in their pans. There are beautiful old mining buildings with plenty of history. The kids only found one other flake in the river in an hour, but they still had fun.The gardens are beautiful. There are campgrounds for small RVs for nightly use without hookup if you would like to stay away from the busy campgrounds.

We went to visit Crow Creek Mine and the entire experience was absolutely amazing! The staff is super friendly, informative, and helpful, the landscape is breathtaking, and the experience was all around wonderful. This was a super quaint corner, tucked into the valleys of the mountain. Even the drive there was beautiful. Highly HIGHLY recommend to anybody wanting “the Alaskan gold panning” experience.

Had a nice afternoon here walking through their property and doing a little gold panning at the river. Cute venue for an event. It was very pretty scenery and you can find a little bit of gold in their pay dirt and/or water holding areas. I'd say the real gold mine is the mercantile store.

I'm always interested in 19 hundreds ghost towns, mines and old west stuff. However this site is an active residence and better suited to weddings than learning about the Alaska gold rush and crow creek history. On the one hand it's neat to see a photo of the owner as a baby in the same little changed kitchen. However, very little on mining life and techniques and the Ak gold rush. Price was also a tad high for the 1 hour visit. $13. 9 or 10 would be better.
