“Can't recommend Tony enough, walked into the store while we were docked and inquired about a watch I had been searching for. Despite not having it on hand Tony took the time to dig through his emails and find out he was supposed to receive one later that week. I left my information and a couple days later he reached out with photos of the watch and shipped it out promptly. He was so easy to work with and I just received the watch today and it looks flawless. If you're in the area stop in and Tony will take care of you. I cannot recommend this place enough and would gladly do my business here instead of a boutique closer to me for future purchases. Definitely add this as a stop if you are a watch enthusiast looking for your next piece.”
“Visiting Alaska while aboard the Norwegian Bliss and stopped by Monarch Jewels on our way to an excursion to look at diamond earings. David, our jewelry was fantastic and helped us pick out a beautiful set of lab grown diamond earrings. David took the time to explain to us the differences and similarities between natural diamonds and lab grown diamonds. From there, Jim, another jeweler helped me pick out a beautiful watch to bring home. Finally, Mack put together a package deal for the earings and watch that we could not pass up. I highly recommend stopping by Monarch Jewels when visiting Ketchican Alaska.”

“Cool little store with a unique selection of gems, minerals, carvings, and most importantly gold nuggets! My wife got a cute little jade statue of a bear catching a salmon and I got a small gold nugget. Prices were great and Glory was super helpful - she even let me hold a weighty $20k gold nugget. Great spot.”
“I am another customer that thinks that the shop is magnificent! Ali and Tamara are just as nice and friendly as everyone says. And they have some of the most creative jewelry in town. I bought a single bear claw earring. I am 75 years old and rather clumsy now and the next morning when I put it on I had trouble getting it onto my ear. Back at the shopTamara took the piece into her work area and came out after a few minutes with another type of clasp. It gave me trouble as well. So once again she returned to her studio and brought it out as a stud. I can work those! I was so tickled. It’s so valuable to shop in the store owned by its jeweler! Then on the way out the door, Allie presented me with an envelope with cash in it. It was the same amount I had paid for the piece . When I ask him what it was for, he said I will trade you this cash for that earring, explaining he didn’t want anyone to get home and be unhappy with what they had purchased. I told him there was absolutely no way he was gonna get my earring for that money! Such a delightful store and people!”
“Ketchikan cruise ship terminal area has many very big gift/souvenir stores. Sockeye Sam’s is one of them. The store is huge and easy to navigate. Everything inside is a more reasonable price than most gift/souvenir stores in other areas. The cashier at the counter is very fast and all the employees are polite and helpful. I had a very enjoyable shopping experience.”

“This is MUST visit when visiting Ketchikan along Creek St. This family owned (3 generations) is the real thing. This family mines, cuts, polishes and sells the opals they mine.
The opals are beautiful, high quality pieces set perfectly. Bondy, the son of the owner and I shared stories of mining opals but I stopped talking when I realized his wealth of experience mining Australian opals. Fascinating!
Please visit this family owned business filled with opals and artist will take your breath away!”

“This place really stands out among a sea of crappy, overpriced, tourist kitsch and random jewelry stores you often find in Southeast Alaska ports. The staff was very knowledgeable about the artists and local art traditions, and pointed me right to the authentic local art. They were willing to work with us on the prices, and we ended up purchasing a gorgeous totem and a silver ring. Thanks Stephanie for a great shopping experience!”

“I first took a cruise to Alaska a couple years ago and I’m happy to say that I got to witness how amazing soaring eagle has turned out. To be honest with you the first time I came it was July 13 of 2017, and although the art gallery was beautiful, it was not large and the staff were very friendly, but didn’t exactly know what they were talking about. We did love their pieces though, and ended up buying a beautiful wooden sculpture that they brought to us that same year in late September.
This year we were on the princess of the seas and came back in and got to see how much it truly has grown. Chad and Sal have been running the store for the last 25 years and you can tell that they really do put their hearts into it. They will be coming back to our house this year. I can’t wait for them and let this be known to everybody who comes to Ketchikan soaring eagle is a must visit.”
