3pm 7/22/23 The lady at the information stand didn’t like my question and let me know she didn’t like it. “I hate it when people ask me about the tours! There are umpteen tours out there.” This was my first time in Ketchikan, my first time in Alaska, my first question for the lady at the “Information booth.” She has the wrong job. Great first impression. Everywhere else we visited, people were very friendly and helpful. Skip this not-so-informative desk.

The town of Ketchikan, AK is one of my favorites. It is a very quaint port town. Plenty of shops, places to eat and a few museums. Creek Street is stunning, and you must walk the whole street if you visit.

Great place to learn about the history, (watch the video in theatre!) The landmarks, and the local activities!

A good first stop to pickup a map and get advice for a self-guided walking tour of Ketchikan. The agent showed us her recommended route which led us past the sites we hoped to see: the fish ladder, the city park, both museums, back to creek street—no paid tour necessary.

I went there on a cruise so it was a short visit, but it is an amazing place, because it is so green and beautiful and so much cool history!

Came here searching for information after exiting a cruise ship. Front desk lady had an expression on her face like I was ruining her entire day by asking her a question about the town. She was very rude and dismissive. Ironic considering it’s a visitors center, where people come to learn about a town they’re visiting.

The staff member I interacted with was extremely helpful and friendly. The bathroom was clean and really appreciated the water bottle refill station. If you've been stuck on a cruise ship, you will want to get your water bottle filled here because the water is DELICIOUS.

I love coming to one of the communities I used to support out of SEATAC Airport for over 14 years as an aircraft fueler. My last two years were as fueling dispatcher at AlaskaAir SEA.
