Tongass Trading Company is a wonderful outdoors supplier with four stores conveniently located in the Ketchikan cruise port area. It is a cool place with a large selection of outdoor clothing, including rain gear, base layers, caps, good boots, shoes, and lightweight rain pants. The store also offers a good selection of clothing, souvenirs, and snacks. They can ship bulkier items home for visitors. The staff is exceptional, friendly, and funny, bending over backwards to help. While items can be a little pricey, this is not unexpected given the remoteness of the location. Summer hours downtown fluctuate depending on when the ships get into port.

This was a pretty big store, larger than what I expected. It had all the Alaskan souvenirs you could want or think of. I'm a big fan of magnets as souvenirs and they had a really cool wide selection. They were also all very reasonably priced. I was rung up quickly, even though there were a ton of people at port.
