I was there only for dinner and breakfast as I was staying in Willow. The food was great!Nearby activities: There are lots of sleddog kennels nearby. Alaska Dog Center offers tours, and it was so much fun!

On 07-09-23 my wife and I stopped at Sheep creek Lodge to have dinner. We noticed that they were very busy at the time and decided to take a chance because we know they serve descent food there and it had been awhile sine we had eaten there. The fist mistake was when we got to the table I did not ask the server how long of a wait they were experiencing for food to get to the tables, that one is on me. The second mistake was that our server did not say that the wait time to get served was at least an hour. Had we known that it would be an hour or longer, we would have kindly declined to order and went somewhere else. After a lengthy wait our server came to our table and stated "that our food would be coming soon as she knew we were one of her two tops who had been waiting 45 to 50 minutes". Our server then came back around 20 minutes later and stated once again that "our food would be coming out soon". My wife then asked how soon and did that mean another 5, 10 15 minutes etc.? Our server avoided that part of the question and stated that our ticket was in front of the cooks versus off to the side". Then our sever came back a third time stating " that there were still 2 tickets in front of us" and at that time and asked would we like to split a dinner salad free of charge. Personally I felt a little insulted and amused at being offered the dinner salad to split with with wife as I'm guessing its basically the "green salad" listed on their menu and because I did not go there to get free food. At that point was I very upset so we told our server to cancel our ticket and as I got ready to pay for my Coke that I had drank our server said it was on the house. Now I have cooked enough food over the years for small groups of people to know that with the 2 tickets in front of ours we probably would not have been served our food for at least another 20 to 30 minutes making out wait time close to 1 1/2 to 2 hours or even longer. As we were leaving another person came into the restaurant and was promptly told that he would have about an hour wait for food. That simply was not accurate as having been there waiting for almost 1 1/2 hours we did not have our food.Like I stated before Sheep Creek Lodge has descent food but not food that is so spectacular for me or anyone on this planet should ever wait close to or longer than 1 1/2 hours to receive. At this point I don't know if I will ever go back or if I would ever recommend anyone eat there unless it's when they first open up for the day. Maybe if we choose to eat there again we will try and be there at 8am when they open and see if they are accepting orders from the dinner menu so we can place an order and if we are lucky we might get it by dinner time or even better by lunch time. The good news is there are plenty of other restaurants in Anchorage and Fairbanks and between both that serve food just as good or better than Sheep Creek Lodge.

This used to be my favorite stop on the Parks highway but the food quality has seriously declined. Their cheeseburgers were amazing but now the entire dish is just “so so” and nothing special. The French fries are now store bought frozen fries whereas before they were hand cut shoestring fries and amazing. The burger itself used to be twice as big, was fully seasoned, juicy, and the bun was freshly made. Now the patty is small, there’s no seasoning, the bun is standard Sysco fare, which was also a little old, and surprisingly soggy, especially since the burger was over cooked.I don’t know if the owners changed or what but this is not the sheep creek lodge of the past. Sheep creek used to have amazing food and now it’s just re-heated Sysco food, and absolutely no reason to stop. Too bad, it used to be my go-to when I drove the Parks. The service was also sub-par this time around. Getting a refill was darn near impossible and the waitress seemed inconvenienced the whole time.?

Great service and great breakfast. We stayed in one of the camper cabins during a fishing trip. You probably know already, but the cabin is bedroom only. Showers and bathrooms are in the main lodge. Outhouses are placed by the cabins. Giving 5 stars because it is great for what it is.

Came for breakfast. The eggs Benedict was really good. The cinnamon swirl French toast was absolutely delicious. I personally didn't care for the biscuits&gravy. The biscuits were super dense and the gravy would be much better with sausage in it. Overall, would definitely return to eat here.

The building is neat being a big log building with typical rustic Alaskan decor. The prices are a little high, but not unreasonable.Unfortunately none of the food was note worthy especially for the prices. The cheese sticks were chewy like cheap cheese. The potato skins were potato halves with minimal toppings. The burgers were similar to what you could buy from Cosco with the bottom of the bun falling apart with how soggy it was.In addition to the the menu choices were small and even being some of the first guests for dinner they were out of fries and onion rings which they substituted for chips that were not fried long enough and soggy.

Did not stay at the hotel but had dinner. Out of kids chicken. Out of soup. Out of 3 of the 6 main entrees at 630 on a Friday night. Waitress was unfriendly whole meal and at the end when I was at the counter paying the check because she didn't pick it up she started hovering over me as I was writing tip so I stuck that receipt in my pocket signed the other with no tip. Then she started insisting I give her the other receipt. I walked out. The Food was average.

forewarning: they have a lot of mosquitos that come in & are by your food etc. They keep the doors open & all of the windows, which don't have screens. Management: we've never had an issue with mosquitos all in an establishment & the servers were not happy when we asked if we could shut the door/windows. only one other couple was in it. the food was very good...I just put 3 stars for the service. The servers seemed to have an attitude, not sure why.

Sheep Creek Lodge is just a great stop to take a break either heading to Fairbanks or coming back from Anchorage. We went in and had breakfast. Ordered some oatmeal with a side dish of links which were incredibly huge and delicious. I ordered the country breakfast, two eggs, biscuits and gravy and two hot links. The biscuits and gravy are excellent. Whatever spices they have figured out how to make a wonderful gravy and I think they toast the biscuits. It made it delicious. However... The real highlight was the homemade corned beef hash! I will come back again and again for that. It is absolutely unbelievable! It's actually just a lot of fun even waiting for your food. There are so many things to see on the walls and take the time and look around. It's really interesting. I look forward to returning because I've heard they have a Ruben sandwich that you will die for once you try it!

I like to judge new places on their burgers. I mean, burgers aren't hard to make well... if a kitchen can't put together a good burger, then it shouldn't be on the menu, right?I wasn't asked how I wanted the burger cooked, which is fine, as long as the burger doesn't come out cooked to hell and dry.Ordered mushrooms and blue cheese on it. Came out well done but still piping hot and moist. Bun appeared to be made in house. Nice and light but held up to the burger. Toppings provided were lettuce, pickle, and onion. I hate tomato on a burger, so that immediately made me happy. Potato salad for the side was delicious. Decent beer selection and a full bar. I'll be back.
