What a great shop to visit. Lots of beautiful jewelry. Clothing, shoes and much more. It's at the end of Banff Ave. Worth the walk with lots of gorgeous scenery to look at. Friendly staff. Very clean store.Historical place to visit 👌 😀

Been coming here since I was a child and it's always a must visit. Herman the merman is on my short list of places to take new people who visit Banff. Authentic native and Canadian souvenirs. Skip all the over priced china made souvenirs on the main Street. I just bought authentic Canadian moccasins from them, that I have wanted since I was a kid every time we would come. Finally bit the bullet and it was the best choice. Tried to buy a cheaper pair of these from Manitoba muclucks and they were a fraction of the quality. Invest a little more money and get the real deal that doesn't leave blisters and wear out and shed after a month.

Such a cool spot to explore and shop! Prices are reasonable, and the items are super unique!
After you’re done, I recommend checking out The Historic Luxton Home (206 Beaver Street, Banff) - you’ll get to see the house of Norman Luxton, the very first owner of the Banff Trading Shop, and hear about his story.

Stopped by the Banff Trading Post. It was okay overall — definitely worth a quick visit if you’re in the area. They have a lot of beautiful leather goods along with other souvenirs. Nice place to browse, even if you’re just looking around.

Love this place, so much nice beadwork and other indigenous items. Definitely worth exploring. Mermaid creature and other assorted taxidermy items are awesome. Fair prices and friendly staff.

My family and I come to Banff once a year strictly to pay tribute to the Merman located at Banff Trading Post. This is a hidden gem and should be experienced by all who visit.

A hidden gem along Banff retail stores
The staff is always nice and friendly, attentive, and understanding.
When visiting this place, you find the value of a museum, with stuffed wildlife on the walls, I personally send people to look at it as a piece of history and heritage, where they can also take pictures.
And the First Nations souvenirs make so much more sense than a t-shirt that you can find in every other province or natio al park.
