This is not your regular review. And you might have read this before “i would get zero stars if i could” this is worst than that.
I entered the store with a friend of mine he was wearing his quarter zip and hat. I was wearing a sweater and some flared jeans. (This information is important i promise you)
One of the associates over there approached my friend and had a little word with him, there were a couple of other people too and the associate attended to them, fair enough.
My friend gave me a jacket to try. I could barely get a look in the mirror and the same associate from earlier approaches me and the first words to me were “unfortunately that is not 40% off”. I laughed it off in the moment but it was the awkward laugh to get out of the situation not so much cuz it was funny.
I left the place, but as i reflected on that conversation i realised if that had happened to my friend i would have stood up for them or done something about it. I went back to speak to them and tell the management about this experience.
I expressed the situation and told the manager that this made me feel very uncomfortable, unwelcoming. This was a very unprofessional approach and its a form of micro-aggression. I also had my braids on and yes I am a person of colour so this definitely felt racist. The manager listened closely without interrupting me. But all she had to say in response to that was “i’m sorry you felt this way”. I didn’t feel this way. Your associate made me feel this way. It is a reaction of an action by your employee. The manager made no effort to even ask who the associate was, where it happened. There was no effort to rectify or even ask for any other details.
The manager tried to make it nicer by saying “next time we can make your experience better”. How do you want me to come back when your employee thinks i shouldn’t be there to begin with or if your employee’s mentality is “i dont think you can afford this based off of your appearance”.
Conclusion: The associate has clearly done this before and gotten away with it. The manager is probably new to this role and has no clue of how to deal with critical situations such as these. I can’t blame the manager so much but how has this employee never been told about this. It’s 2025! And i cant believe they have made me feel like i shouldn’t be welcome there of shop there because of my skin colour, hair or clothing.
You need to do better.

I rarely give a 9 or a 10 out of ten, particularly in retail. Lisa was a joy to deal with. The selection (men's) in the store great and the prices are reasonable.

Lynel was so so incredibly helpful in picking out a dress for someone special. She was so charismatic and worked with us seamlessly to pin point the perfect material and colour. Girl deserves a raise! Thanks Lynel!

Can we all just boycott UPS, the delivery has consistently been awful, EVERY SINGLE TIME. My most recent BR package they insisted I wasn't home although I have been wfh for days as I'm currently working on my thesis. This is not the first time they've done this, claiming I am not around when I am. They made me go pick up, I am busy and can't drive, so I sent my bf. He was told I have to personally pick it up, even though I sent him my ID, I even offered to video call for it to confirm I am the recipient, but they said no and sent him home. I told him to tell them to redeliver, they insisted they cannot do that. So I'm now stuck, I have to carve out time to go pick up the darned package. Tempted to let them send it back to BR because I am so annoyed.

Was there a few days back to get clothes for my friends wedding
Hosna and Leah helped me with whatever I needed and constantly brought more clothes to my dressing room door for me.
extremely helpful and kind, I intend to get more clothes from here in the future as well.

On Dec 11 3.30pm I visited this store for some shopping, once I entering, 4 staffs were chatting, none of them say hi to me or even smile to me. I would like to check some cardigans and no one help, they are talking so aloud and laughing. Then I tried to smile to a lady who wear glasses, she saw me and she choose to ignore me and left. I cannot believe this is the service that banana republic will provide.
